Chapter 4 - An Hour Before New Year's

Ilang Oras na lang ay new year's na. And guess what? I was able to buy her a gift bago kami umalis sa mall. Paano kamo? Well...

*Burps* "Haha! Sorry. Nabusog lang talaga ako dun sa kinain natin. Thanks for the treat, Candy!" Sunshine happily smiled.

"No problem." Ang sabi naman ng isa at... Nakangiti? Wow. I'm not gonna lie but, this girl has a nice smile. Too bad she rarely does it.

"Well... Since it's already 6pm, I think we should all go separate na. Baka malagot ako kay mommy 7 ako makauwi. Traffic pa naman." Pag-aalalang sinabi ni Shine.

"Hmm..."

Nag-iisip pa si Candy nang biglang nagsalita si Zac.

"Sige, mauna na kayo. My mom chatted me and she's here pala. I'll be staying here."

"Oh... Okay, sige. What about you, Riley?"

"Oh... Uh... M-mm... I'll go home na..." Ang malungkot na sinabi nung torpe.

"Ah. Yeah. I'll go home." Ang biglang sinabi ni Candy.

"Alright! Let's go then. Thank you guys for celebrating my birthday!"

"Mm. Happy birthday, Sunshine!" They all greeted with joy.

We all went on our separate paths. On our way para sumakay, I immediately excused myself to Shine para magrestroom.

"Shine, sorry. I think I really need to go to the toilet." Ang sabi ko acting like my tummy hurts.

"Oh no! Natatae ka?" Ang sabi niya na concerned.

"Wag mo naman sabihin yan, ang baduy. But yeah, natatae nga ako..."

"Heh. Sorry. Do you want me to come with you?"

"N-no need. I really gotta go. Bye!" I ran off before she could react.

I first went to the bookstore and looked for the book that she wanted. And there, I saw it. There was only one left, kaya medyo gumaan pakiramdam ko. I was about to reach it when suddenly, another hand appeared and took it. Wth?

"Hey! That's mine! I saw that first!" I blurted out.

It was a woman whose hair was white but she wasn't old, she wore a polka dot green and white dress, and her eyes were just like Candy's. She stared at me with those cold green eyes.

Is she a foreigner? But her hair color is so different. Maybe nagpakulay ng buhok?

"Sorry. It's just that you're too slow." She said and waved the book with a smirk on her face while walking away.

Ah... lagot. Ano na bibilhin kong regalo nyan? This is bad.

While worrying, I suddenly got surprised when my phone rang. I was panicking so I just answered it without looking kung sino yung natawag.

"WHERE ARE YOU?!" Shouted by the one who called. Medyo maingay background kaya di ko din masyado rinig kung kaninong boses yun.

"Ha? Ah... Ano, sino ba to?" I just asked.

"It's me, SHINE! Kanina pa 'kong naghihintay dito! Mawawalan na tayo ng masasakyan nito."

Ah si Shine pala.

"..."

"Bat biglang nanahimik nalang tong Apollo na toh?" Shine thought while raising one of her eyebrows.

"Ah!" Sabi ni Shine.

"You okay? What's wrong?" I asked concerned kasi parang iba yung boses nya nung sinabi nya yun.
