Choi Beomgyu's POV

"Wait, what?" I exclaimed, nearly knocking over the lamp on my desk.

"Yeah, sorry, Beomgyu, but I really have to quit my job, you know? My mom is very sick, and at this rate, she might even pass away, and I wouldn't even know if I continued working here."

I sighed and sank back into my chair, struggling to digest the news. Kwon Jae Gyeong, my long-time bodyguard, had just dropped a bombshell. After seven long years of loyal service, he was leaving. It was a difficult pill to swallow, but I understood his reasons.

"Do you know who my next bodyguard will be?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.

"Yeah, I think it's a girl from SecurityArc."

The revelation took me by surprise. A female bodyguard? It was something I hadn't expected, but it immediately piqued my interest.

"Very well then, goodbye, Jae."

"Bye, Beomgyu, and do not give the new girl a hard time."

I couldn't help but smirk in response as I walked down the hallways. The prospect of having a new bodyguard, especially a female one, had ignited my curiosity and left me wondering what kind of dynamic our future interactions would hold.

As I arrived at the throne room, I noticed my younger sister, Mina, who was standing behind the door glaring at a girl. "What are you glaring at now?" I asked, my tone dripping with mockery.

"Oh, you want to know? Your new bodyguard is here, and it's a girl. How did I not know about this?" Mina replied, her tone filled with surprise and a hint of annoyance.

I followed her gaze, and as I laid eyes on the newcomer, my breath caught in my throat. She was undeniably beautiful, perhaps the most stunning girl I had ever seen. She was dressed in formal attire and wore sleek black heels. Her raven-black hair was elegantly pinned into a low ponytail, framing her captivating facial features.

I couldn't deny the impact her presence had on me. There was an undeniable aura of strength and confidence about her, and her appearance was impeccably professional. As I observed her from a distance, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of person she was beneath the composed exterior.

My mom's voice resonated through the room, "Wait! Let me go fetch Beomgyu and Mina. Those two are always up to something."

Rather than wait to be summoned, I decided to step out of the shadows and stand before my parents. "I'm here, Mom," I announced, my presence drawing their attention.

As I turned to glance at the girl who had introduced herself as Kang Hana, I noticed another figure beside her. He was considerably taller, his blonde hair catching my eye, and he was dressed in what appeared to be an expensive Chanel suit. It was evident that he held a certain level of importance or authority, and I couldn't help but wonder about his role in this unexpected situation.

I couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment when I noticed that Kang Hana's attention had shifted from me to my younger sister, Mina. However, that didn't deter me from continuing to observe her. Kang Hana possessed a striking beauty that was hard to ignore, even for a prince who had girls lining up for him. Her big, brown eyes, full pink lips, and her perfectly proportioned height and slim figure all contributed to her overall captivating presence. It was as though she belonged on the cover of a fashion magazine, not in the role of a bodyguard.

My mother requested that I take both Kang Hana and the other guy, Choi Soobin, on a tour of the castle. I gestured for them to follow me, but as we walked through the grand halls, I couldn't help but notice that Hana and Soobin were engaged in a hushed conversation. It had completely slipped my mind that I had asked one of the royal guards to set up a test for Hana, which she had passed with remarkable grace, pinning Soobin against the wall. I couldn't help but notice the telltale signs of a crush on Soobin's face, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. After all, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the look of love on one's face.
