He inched closer, his presence looming over her. Aiyu's body trembled, instinctively taking a step back in an attempt to flee. The color drained from her face as the realization set in - she was in a real trouble. Desperation guided her backward until she collided with the door, causing her to jolt and swiftly turn her head to assess the situation behind her.

The mysterious figure straightened his posture and, with a glint in his eye, slowly moved his hands to his back. Aiyu's gaze shifted back to him, unsure of what to expect. He wore a mischievous smile, as if toying with her, and his words carried a sense of intrigue, "I've locked that door tight, my dear. Only I hold the key." Despite the initial fear, there was something about his demeanor that softened the intensity. His face seemed to sparkle with a hint of friendliness, leaving Aiyu questioning the true nature of this enigmatic stranger.

No no no! .......Aiyu shook her head , ever cautious, refused to be fooled by his abrupt change in behavior. She knew all too well the saying about wolves hiding in sheep's clothing, ready to pounce on their unsuspecting prey.

Her voice trembled as she mustered the courage to ask, "What are your intentions? Please spare my life. I can offer you a far more delectable feast than myself. I promise, I am not at all appetizing. Please, do not devour me. I am nothing but sourness, a taste you surely would not desire.

Hear me out, let us indulge in a hot pot instead. It is far more satisfying, or we can select anything from the menu, my treat. Please?"

Her every word dripped with a dramatic accent, her sobs punctuating each utterance as if time was running out and forgiveness was urgently needed. The person couldn't help but chuckle, unsure of what she was thinking. "Haha, no wonder you were chosen to assist Ma Yun. You two are surely cut from the same cloth," he remarked, finding her to be the perfect apprentice for him.

However, despite the teasing, the person agreed to her invitation as a way to make up for dislocating his jaw. He lightly touched his jaw in a dramatic fashion, taunting her. "But I must warn you, I just had lunch, so if you insist on treating me, I'll be needing a milk boba tea. Is that acceptable to you?"

Aiyu's eyes bulged, struggling to process the revelation. He knows Ma Yun? This could only mean one thing - he must be a member of this enigmatic place! A realization dawned on her as she noticed his attire, resembling that of the others. Could it be that she had misunderstood the situation?

As Wo Luo had mentioned, the cursed inhabitants of this place could not harm her. The thought ignited a radiant glow of hope and joy within her. However, she couldn't help but question why he had abruptly captured and confined her moments ago. Nevertheless, she must gather her courage and remember that as long as she remained within these walls, she was safe from harm. There is no reason to succumb to fear any longer.

He spoke again, interrupting the silence. "By the way, I am Hao Li. Sorry, I should have introduced myself earlier," he said, shrugging his shoulders and running his hand through his hair.

Aiyu raised an eyebrow and stared at him, perplexed. "What?" She asked, scrunching up her face. Aiyu hesitated for a moment before responding, "Don't you think you're a bit strange?"

Hao Li chuckled at her response , his laughter barely louder than a whisper. "Not any stranger than your master. Actually , I just saw you and Ma Yun heading towards the House of Desolation, so I figured you must be his apprentice. Pretty smart, aren't I?" he said, a glimmer of pride in his eyes.

Aiyu's expression turned grim.

"Are you out of your mind?! You nearly scared me to death! I felt like my soul was about to leave my body!" She suddenly erupted in complaint, her words flowing out in a split second.

"But I didn't mean to. I was merely trying to silence you first and then explain. And you dislocated my jaw!" He gently caressed his jaw, wincing in pain. "Look, it still hurts."

Aiyu furrowed her brows, her frustration evident. "What do you want, huh?"

He chuckled softly. "Nothing much, really."
His giggles continued as he added, "By the way, Ma Yun is to blame. How careless of him to leave you alone like that. And he still hasn't returned. What a negligent master, right?"

"That is an utterly absurd and unacceptable course of action!!!" She roared once more, her voice dripping with fury. "It is beyond reason for you to behave like a despicable kidnapper. If it were anyone else, they would have given you the same well deserved punch or even more beating !"

Aiyu paused, deep in thought. "But now that I consider it," she mused, "he is even more irresponsible. When I see him again, I will ensure he faces the consequences of leaving me like that despite being my entrusted guardian , even if it means subjecting him to a scorching frying pot!"

Feeling overwhelmed by the peculiar individuals surrounding her, she couldn't help but sob. "I long to return to my home. I cannot bear to stay in the company of these foolish jokers any longer."

"Growl growl," the sound echoed through the air. Hao Li's senses were instantly alerted, his nose twitching and his ears perked up as he scanned his surroundings.

Aiyu placed a hand on her stomach, casting a pitiful look at Hao Li. Perplexed, he arched an eyebrow and retorted, "What's going on, don't tell me it was you? You were the one who offered me food, remember?"

His expression remained flat, betraying his disbelief. A mischievous smile played on Aiyu's lips as she pleaded, "Hehe, if you help me out this time, I promise to treat you to a grand meal next time. But for now, I'm so hungry I could even eat a raw horse!"
