Ramza on Tumbr

(GN)
I found an old draft which I don't really like but this small part, so I wanted to post it as a drabble alone :)
Sorry for nothing big or a full on fic but I thought I'd post it :]
Pairing: Dream x Reader
tw: Blood mention, wound mention, Reader's death mention

Disgrace. Disgrace, disgrace, disgrace!
It was getting cold. The blood that seeped out so warmly suddenly turned freezing in the wind of the battlefield. One of Y/N's hands was still clasping the wound, trying to stop the bleeding somewhat but at this point it was just laying on top of it. Not enough energy to put pressure on it anymore.
There was suddenly a loud clatter. A person looming over them only to fall down beside. A shaking gloved hand reaching out for them, a thumb gliding across their face in a loving manner.
"Dream?"

As a response Dream threw his helmet off and slipped his hands out of his gloves. His rough hands now traveling across their face and chest in order to inspect the wound. While a bit blurry, Y/N could see his pale face. Realization dawned on him. His green eyes wide in fear.

If they had enough energy left they would have laid their own bloody hand against his cheek to calm him down like usual but they couldn't. It hurt to see him like this and not being able to do anything about it. Almost more than the hole inside their chest.

"It's gonna be fine, I'll get you to a healer." He tried to reassure them but Y/N knew it was only a matter of minutes until they couldn't stay awake. Maybe even less.

They took a shaky but deep breath in only to begin convulsing and coughing. Dream's hand immediately went back to their head, whispering words of encouragement. Saying that it'll be fine.
"No."

This made Dream freeze "No, no. It will be fine. We both agreed this would be our last fight. We would retire. Live away from all this. You can't die here. I need you!"

"Dream." Heavy breathing accompanied every word as they begun speaking. It was getting difficult to form the words and let them travel out "I'm sorry. I think I need to break that promise."
