TW: talking about past abuse by parental figure

I'm back with a huge update. This chapter is my favourite one so I hope that you'll like it as well. There are 2 chapters left and we'll be done with this story.

After learning how to ride a horse Jaemin and Jeno's job was a lot more enjoyable. They did their job two times faster and Jaemin was even able to eat dinner with the rest of the boys. Jeno taught him a lot during the 2 weeks they were working.

Now Jaemin and his horse, Lila were best friends. They knew what each of them liked and disliked. Jeno told him at the beginning that riding a horse is like dancing, they need to be partners but there always needs to be someone to lead. This analogy turned out to be right on point. After all this talking Jaemin wanted to see Jeno dance as the older seemed to be knowledgeable in that area.

One day Jeno told him that he gets to have the next day free. It was so surprising but Jaemin didn't dare to question it. He made plans with Minjae to go and play near the lake that was on Jeno's land. When they got there it was chilly but the sun was already all the way up and the day was supposed to be super hot. Their plan was to stay there until dinner and then go back to the mansion. Jaemin felt weird not doing anything but at the same time he really needed that break.

"Hyung, look! There are ducks here!" Minjae shouted excited. He was already running to the lake where the precious ducks were swimming.

"Be careful. Don't get too close to the water." Jaemin warned his brother. He got out all of the stuff that they brought including a huge blanket that Renjun let him borrow. Lila was right next to them eating the fresh grass.

They spent the whole morning playing, running around and feeding the ducks. Jaemin wasn't aware how much he missed his little brother. He had too much work to even think about it.

Around noon they heard someone coming and when they turned around they saw Haechan and Renjun coming in their direction. "Did someone order the most famous pie in a world?" Haechan grinned as he showed basket full of food, with the famous pie in the middle of course.

"Boss gave us free afternoon and told us to entertain you." Renjun explained to Jaemin.

Both boys got down from their horses and walked to brothers who were sitting on the blanket. Minjae got up and run to hug them but wasn't able to because Haechan caught him and turned around with the little boy in his arms making both of them dizzy. Jaemin and Renjun laughed while getting the food out of the basket.

When their stomachs were full they got up and decided to walk around the trees that were circling the lake. Minjae took Renjun's hand and was walking with him in the front curious about everything he saw. Haechan as always was telling Jaemin about all the gossips and things that happened while he was away.

"And you know how Mr Jung is. He got all red and the younger boys had to fan him. It was such a hilarious sight!" Jaemin giggled at the story. The way Haechan was talking was always entreating to listen to. "Also, Mark showed up in the kitchen today. Apparently he had something to discuss with Ms Song but all the boys think that he has a crush on her. I don't know about that but he comes to the kitchen a lot more than he used to."

Jaemin didn't really care for Mark because Mark also didn't care for him. Since their encounter at the gate Jaemin saw him a few times but the older man never acknowledged him. But the way Haechan talked about him made Jaemin think that they must be close and since he's curious why Mark treats him that way he decided to ask his friend some questions.

"What exactly is Mark responsible here for?"

"Are you curious now? About your sworn enemy?" Jaemin rolled his eyes at that. Haechan loved to make jokes about his and Mark's dislike towards one another. "But coming back, he kinda does everything. He's Jeno's right hand. They are each others only family so they're protective of one another. But I think Mark is the overprotective one."
