Rourke's sadistic glee was evident as he watched the group prepare to face the horrors of "The Ring." His eyes gleamed with a twisted excitement, relishing the power he held over them. It was clear that he derived sick pleasure from their predicament.
With a malevolent grin, he announced, "Finally, we're moving forward!" The excitement in his voice was palpable, sending shivers down the spines of those forced to participate in his gruesome game.
Rourke paced back and forth outside the ring, savoring the tension in the air. He continued, "You see, 'The Ring' has three phases." His tone was laced with a sinister undertone that left no doubt that each phase would be more perilous than the last.
The group exchanged wary glances, their faces etched with a mixture of fear and concern for both Marta and Benny. These two however remained a strong front, not allowing themselves to show any form of emotion.
Rourke's voice echoed through the arena as he explained the first phase of "The Ring," a challenge he ominously referred to as "The Eaters." His words carried an air of malevolence as he detailed the gruesome task that lay ahead.
"In the first phase," Rourke declared, "you'll have to face off against a horde of creatures I like to call 'The Eaters.'" The way he said it, with a twisted sense of amusement, sent a chill down the spines of the group.
As he continued, he described these Eaters as hollows, twisted and nightmarish creatures that lurked in the shadows of this brutal world. "These hollows are relentless and insatiable," Rourke explained, "and your survival will depend on your ability to fight them off."
The group exchanged worried glances, knowing that battling hollows was no easy feat. But they also knew that they had faced danger before, and their determination to survive was stronger than ever. The duos demeanor was starting to fail as the guards all around them were cheering and clapping as if this was a show they were watching.
Benny couldn't contain his curiosity, even in the face of impending danger. He raised his hand slightly, a hesitant but determined expression on his face. "Hey, Rourke," he began, "What about the weapons we're supposed to get? Any chance we could know what we're working with?"
Benny's question hung in the air for a moment, breaking the tense atmosphere with its unexpected humor. Laughter rippled through The Vipers as if Benny said the funniest joke ever. Even Rourke cracked a sinister smile, amused by the brief interruption.
But the amusement was short-lived as Rourke's voice once again filled the arena, cold and unforgiving. "Who said anything about weapons? You won't be getting any weapons," he declared, his tone final.
Marta, her patience wearing thin, couldn't stand the theatrics any longer. She stepped forward, her eyes locked on Rourke, and annoyance lacing her voice. "Can we skip the introduction and get to the damn point?" she snapped. The gravity of their situation weighed on her, and she had no time for Rourke's sadistic games.
Rourke's lips curled into a sly smile at Marta's impatience. "As you wish," he replied with a hint of amusement.
The scene around them shifted dramatically. The Vipers, a sinister audience, watched from all sides, their faces twisted into cruel smiles, their anticipation palpable.
Members of the group were seized by The Vipers, their expressions a mix of fear and uncertainty. Marta and Benny, their backs pressed against each other, exchanged a determined look, silently preparing for whatever challenge lay ahead.
As the tension in the air grew, The Vipers began to bang their feet on the floor in rhythmic unison, creating an eerie, tribal-like drumming that echoed through the ring. The sound resonated with a primal energy, signaling the start of a harrowing ordeal in The Ring's first phase, known as "The Eaters."
