It's The Little Things...

Chapter 16

****Niall's P.O.V.*****

I can't believe it. It's finally happening. I'm going on a date with Lexi, the girl of my dreams. I've got a million thoughts running through my mind right now and I'm not even sure what to say to her on the drive to the restaurant. "I love this song!" I hear Lexi say as she turns up the radio.

"So wake me up when it's all over. When I'm wiser and I'm older." She sings. She has such a beautiful voice. Every little thing about her is beautiful. I know I've said it before, but I still can't believe she hasn't had a boyfriend the whole time we've known her. But hopefully tonight, that will change and she'll say yes to being my girlfriend.

"We're here!" I say, and walk around the car to open her door for her. She smiles and takes my hand getting out of the car. There's a lot of people here tonight but I reserved us a table in one of the back rooms where nobody ever sits. The last thing I want tonight is for somebody to notice me or for the paparazzi to bother us. I want this night to be perfect for Lexi.

We sit down at our table and our waiter hands us our menus and takes our drink orders.

"What would you like to drink miss?" He asks Lexi

"Coke, please" She replys smiling.

"I'll take a Coke as well"

"Okay, I'll give you a few minutes to decide what you're ordering and I'll be back with your drinks." He says as he walks back to the kitchen.

"Well I'm glad so see you're not ordering Diet Coke anymore" I say smiling, remembering back to the day we first met her and she ordered Diet because she thought she was fat and the boys and I tried to convince her she wasn't. It's hard to believe that was almost three months ago. We've all grown so close, I couldn't imagine my life without her now. She's perfect.

"Yeah..I just thought I'd try it. See how much of a difference there is" She says blushing. I love it when she blushes, she looks so cute when she's embarrased.

About an hour later we're finished with our food and I decide to ask her the question I've been so nervous about for the past month.

"Lexi, I have a question. And when I ask you, please don't laugh in my face." I say.

"Um, okay?" She says, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, I just want to tell you I think you're the prettiest, smartest, funniest, most outgoing girl I've ever met in my life" Here goes...." So, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Awh Niall! Why would I laugh in your face? That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard. Of course I'll be your girlfriend!" She says, smiling from ear to ear. I can't believe it, the girl of my dreams is actually gonna go out with me. This is the best day of my life.

"Really?" I ask, still taking in everything she just said.

"Really." She says smiling and getting up to hug me.

I pay for our dinner and we walk out of the restaurant, hand in hand towards my car. I still can't stop smiling. And Lexi hasn't stopped smiling either.

And all I can think, is that I'm glad I finally had the guts to ask her.
