Chapter One: Cousin's Beach.

The drive to Cousins Beach was long and boring. Looking out the car window, I wondered how long it would take me to settle into Cousins. My mother Eliza had gotten a job opportunity so good that she couldn't refuse. So much so that she decided to move our family to Cousins, without even consulting with me or my brother. She is now the manager of some Country Club in Cousins Beach. I've always been open to change and exploring new adventures, but for some reason, this move to Cousins just seems so forced and completely unnecessary.

Connecting my airpods, I opened the music library on my phone and clicked play on my Taylor Swift playlist. The first song on my playlist was Endgame. I closed my eyes and bopped my head to the beat of the song. A few songs later, I was almost drifting off to sleep when suddenly I felt something being thrown onto my face. I opened my eyes and noticed that it was one of my brothers socks. I paused the music and threw the sock back at him. "NOAHHH." I yelled at him.

Noah, who was sitting in the passengers seat turned around to face me. "What? You were sleeping." He smirked. I wished I could slap that smirk off his face.

I shot a dagger at him. "So you had to throw your sock in my face?" I looked at him with a straight face.

          "Yes." He smirked again.

"Behave you two. We are almost there." Our mother said.

Noah pulled down the vanity mirror and starting looking at himself. According to my friends, my brother is an attractive guy. I don't see him like that because he is my sibling. Although, his hazel brown eyes and charming smile definitely did win the hearts of many girls back when we lived in Miami. He fiddled with his hair for a few minutes and smiled at himself. I could tell that he was having a conceited moment. I rolled my eyes at him and he seemed to have noticed. "Don't be jealous of my hair." He said to me.

Noah has naturally curly brown hair, which always sets so perfectly. And I hated that. I was always jealous of his hair and he knew it. "Shut up." I said and kicked the back of his seat.

          "OLIVIA." My mother shouted.

"Sorry." I quickly apologized, causing Noah to smile.

A few moments later, we had arrived at Cousins. The place looked amazing and the view of the beach was absolutely breath-taking. The water was the perfect shade of ocean blue. The waves were truly enchanting and after looking at them, I couldn't wait to go out there and surf. I smiled at the sight of Cousins. It was beautiful, really beautiful.

It wasn't long before we had arrived at our new house. It was almost the same size as our Miami house, only a little bigger. The garden in the front yard was beautiful. Looking at it, I knew that one of the reasons my mother picked this house was because of the garden. Eliza loved her gardening. The yard was huge, there was parking spots for at least six cars. I walked around the side of the house, all the way to the back. The pool was huge, way bigger than the one at our Miami house. The lawn was bit enough to play volleyball and even paddle.

My mother took Noah and I on an house tour. She had been in Cousins this past week, making sure that all of our furniture had already been set up in the correct places. The house looked great on the outside and on the inside too. She then showed us to our rooms. We each had our own closets and bathroom, just like back in Miami. My mother had chosen similar wallpapers and set ups for our rooms because she wanted it to feel like home right away.

The movers did a really good job with the house. Everything was so perfect that it already started to feel like home. I smiled as I looked around my room. I knew my mother had come in and rearranged certain things. My mothers touch was something extraordinary. Thankfully the only things I had to unpack were my clothes and my personal belongings, which I was planning on doing later.

I looked into my vanity mirror and was deciding on whether or not I should change. My white crop top was a bit creased from the long drive. My denim shorts and white sneakers looked fine though. It was extremely hot outside so my shades rested on top of my head.

My phone beeped, making me to reach into my back pocket and pull it out. I looked at it and it was a text message from my friend Danielle asking me if I had arrived safely. I've known Danielle my entire life. Growing up in Miami, we went to the same schools. We are practically best friends. I replied to Danielle's text and then noticed that my phone's battery was dying. I sighed when I realised that my charger was in my bag that was in the car. I quickly ran down the stairs and to the car.

I opened the car door and reached inside for my bag. I grabbed my bag and threw it over my shoulder. I closed the car and was about to walk back into the house when I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw a lady with blonde hair who looked like she's in her forties. She was wearing a white sundress and holding a box of muffins. She walked towards me with two boys by her side. They must be her sons, I could tell because they both looked around my age. To the right of the lady was a boy who had curly golden hair and grass green eyes. They were beautiful, probably his best feature. To the left was a boy who had dark brown hair and a darker shade of green eyes. They were both tall and they were both handsome.

"Hi. I'm Susannah, your next door neighbour." Susannah said and reached out for a hug. She caught me off guard with the hug, but it was comforting to say the least. Susannah had the brightest smile in the world.

Was all the people in Cousins like this? So friendly. So welcoming. Shyly I said, "Hello, I'm Olivia. It's nice to meet you." I smiled the warmest smile I could.

"Pleasure to meet you darling. And these are my boys. Conrad and Jeremiah." She said, looking at them both. First at the one on the right and then at the one on the left.

"Hi, I'm Jeremiah." Said the guy with the curly hair and pretty eyes. He reached out for a hug. Friendly, like his mother. I thought as I hugged him back.

"Hi, I'm Conrad." Said the guy with the straight hair. Conrad did not go in for hug, instead he stayed exactly where he was. He looked more laid back and reserved compared to his brother.

I smiled at both of them before saying, "It's nice to you both."

Before I could say anything else, my brother came rushing towards the car. "Hey Liv-" Noah said and paused when he saw Susannah and the boys. "Hello." Said Noah.

"This is my brother Noah." I said to Susannah and the boys. "Noah, these are our neighbours, Susannah, Jeremiah and Conrad." I said and pointed at them respectively.

My mother came out a few seconds later. When she saw Susannah, she got really happy. She already knew all of them. She definitely met them this past week but by the way she was talking, it seemed like she had known them her whole life. The boys started mingling and to be honest, I don't even know what about. I was busy lost in another world until Noah nudged me.

"Liv?" He said. Suddenly they all were looking at me. Jeremiah was smiling at me. Conrad too.

"Sorry, what?" I asked Noah.

"Start of the summer beach bonfire. You down?" Noah asked.

I was about to answer when Jeremiah spoke. "Come. It will be fun. You'll have us as company and our friend Belly will be there too so you won't be the only girl." He said. He made a pretty convincing statement.

"Yeah, I'm down." I smiled.

"Great." Jeremiah said. I'm sure that I saw him wink at me.

Bonfire on a beach with these two brothers. Sounds fun. Looks like I'm going to enjoy this place after all.
