SEASON 2 FINALE!!!
(Naomie)
It's morning by the time we make it back to the highway. The highway where Sophia and I ran off from.
Laying on a hood of a broke down car is pile of supplies. And above it is a sign that is smeared and disappearing.
Girls stay here we'll come back every day.
"Where's mom? You said she'd be here." Carl fumes at his dad. I busy myself with packing supplies into an empty bag I found inside the back of a car. "W.. we gotta go back for her."
"Carl.."
"No. Why are we running? What are you doing? It's mom. We need to get her and not be safe a mile away." Carl continues to holler. I can see the tears form in his eyes.
"Shh. You need to be quiet, all right? Please."
Carl sucks in a breath and looks back up to his father. "Please... it's mom."
"Look, Carl, listen..."
"No." Carl pushes his dad away storming off back to the truck.
I get it. I feel out of place. I want Daryl, I want Glenn, I want Carol, and Lori, T-Dog, Pop, Andrea. Something doesn't feel right about them not being here.
"Rick." Hershel stops him from following after Carl. "You've got to get these kids to safety. I'll wait here for my girls and the others. I know a few places. We'll meet up at one of them later."
"Where? Where is safe?" Rick asks his voice raspy. I finish filling the bag, moving back to the car to throw it inside. "We're not splitting up."
"Please, keep your kids safe. I'll hide in one of the cars. If a walker gets me, so be it. I've lost my farm. I've lost my wife and maybe my daughters."
"You don't know that. They'll be here."
"And you don't know that."
"You're a man of god." Rick hisses. I keep close to the side of the car, watching from a distance and keeping out for an signs of walkers or our group. "Have some faith."
"I can't profess to understand god's plan, but Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought maybe he had something, a little different in mind."
Maybe something a little less... cruel.
"We stick together." Rick finishes, before walking towards Carl.
__
There's a walker.
Just one, just growling and stumbling past us. It didn't even know we were here seeing all four of us were pressed against the side of the truck, waiting until it passed by. Rick didn't wanna shoot it, just to be safe.
"Okay. Come, come, come, come." Rick leads us around to the back of the truck.
Once the walker is out of ear sight Hershel speaks up. Carl and I are pressed in-between him and Rick. "I don't know how much longer we can stay here."
"What if another heard passes by like before?" I ask looking over the trunk as the walker gets farther away from us.
"Then we stay together. No running off into the woods." Rick says.
"That was an accident."
"I-I'm not leaving without mom." Carl adds.
"So we're just gonna walk away?" Rick asks Hershel this time. "Not knowing if my wife, or your girls are still out there? How do we live with that?"
