A week later, Shocker converted him into a cybernetically enhanced soldier, done while Ethan was in coma. Just before Ethan was brainwashed into serving Shocker, he managed to escape and as a result, they sent out their monsters and henchmen to catch him. After Ethan has escaped from the experiment, he decides to use his powers for good as he became the Kamen Rider, to take revenge on Shocker, while also protecting the citizens of Japan from the organization's experiments and crimes. Though, Ethan temporarily left from Japan to the United States of America, in the hands of his successor, he returned and retroactively bore the name, Kamen Rider Ichigo.
