Twenty Questions and a Gift pt. 2
TEO WAS far from drunk. His favorite drink was whisky. Iyong Andy Player Black. Through the night, he drank six bottles of soju.
Gently, he patted her head. "Gising ka naman, 'di ba?"
"Why?" Linnie hummed.
"Alam mo 'yong 20 questions, 'di ba?"
"From 'Twenty Questions ni Juan Ekis'? Of course. We watched that play."
"Laro tayo?"
That seemed to catch Linnie's attention. "Kung may gusto kang itanong, go ahead and shoot but I don't think we have the time for 20 questions each."
"Ha? Why?"
"Your dare's only for seven minutes, right?"
"Babe, birthday ko ngayon. I can celebrate however I want.
"Okay, you're right. It's your birthday." She stretched her legs. She shuddered as her skin made contact with the floor.
He pretended to be cold.
"Go on." She sat on the floor again, facing him. "Ano bang itatanong mo?"
Teo bit his lip. He definitely didn't think this through. "Princess cut or round cut? Alin mas gusto mo?"
Linnie broke into a smile. "Come on. Ano ba talagang gusto mong itanong?"
"Tingnan mo 'to," nangingiti niyang sabi. "Binigyan naman kita ng tanong. Just answer it, babe."
"Ano bang context?"
Teo chuckled. "Wala namang gan'yanan. No answering with questions."
"Assuming that you're talking about engagement rings, I would say either is okay. Pareho namang singsing."
"Isa pang bawal 'yan." "No vague or unclear answers, ha-ha."
"I'm slightly leaning toward round cut diamond rings because they look minimal."
"Okay, noted," Teo mumbled with a wink.
