"I wasn't aware the prince couldn't speak," said Claude breaking Atlantis from his thought, he answered, "Oh I can speak I just don't know what to say" As he finished speaking he saw Julie walking towards him and she said "his highness are you ok?" she acted as if Claude simply didn't exist but she smiled at Felix a warm smile turned a frown when she saw Atlantis in Claude and took him and set him down and said "why don't we go to the palace do something you want to do" Atlantis didn't want to go but he didn't want to say no to Julie so he just nodded and started walking with her when Claude stopped him by grabbing his shoulder and said "I would like to have to lunch with him" "when?" asked Julie "right now" Atlantis's eyes widened though he didn't say anything. Still, he did turn paler than he already was which wasn't possible he managed to it.

Julie not having a choice left the prince alone with the emperor which wasn't a good idea because what happened there was scary for the six-year-old.

Claude took his son to have tea with him they sat under the sun drinking tea since Claude was aware of what his son might want want to have he told the chef to cook every type of sweet and gave him the same type of tea he drank.

Surprisingly Atlantis liked the tea it was surprising to Claude because he thought the coffee would have been too strong for the young boy sitting in front of him but as he could see that wasn't the case the boy looked like he was enjoying it.

Atlantis never liked sweet food it wasn't his type of food but to please his father he ate a bite of the cake prepared for him Claude started the conversation "Do you know who I am" Atlantis now making eye contact with him said "Yes I am well aware of who you are you are the emperor of Obelia and my father" Atlantis muttered the last part but it was still loud enough for Claude to hear him.

They sat there in silence until Claude spoke.

"Atlantis how dare your mother name you that the next king's name shouldn't be something as absurd as that, but it'll do. The audacity of that woman" Claude mumbled the last part then scoffed.

They sat under the sun drinking tea Claude eyed Atlantis suspiciously to which Atlantis started to overthink what he was doing wrong but he played it cool not wanting to look like a mess in front of his father.

"Why aren't you eating more sweets?" asked Claude in his cold voice his blonde shining under the sun

"I am not a big fan of eating sweet" replied Atlantis in a sweet voice that could melt anyone's heart.

Claude simply nodded.

Atlantis could feel his father staring at him but decided not to acknowledge it.

"Felix you will teach the prince how to fight with swords and you will make him the swordsman in the entire empire" Atlantis didn't know what to feel was his father looking out for him? He thought.

It had been three years since Atlantis had met his father and started sword fighting he was now nine he used to meet his father rarely seldom and they did they just sat in silence Atlantis always wanted to start a conversation with his father he was always looking for the man's approval but as his luck never worked, he never got it.

The only approval he got was from Julie and Felix and though he was grateful for them he always felt like there was an empty spot in his heart.

Atlantis excitedly walked to the king's palace though he would never admit it sitting with his father was the best time for him as he never had parents in his old life. Sure he went from one foster to another they never really felt like he belonged though Claude didn't act like a father Atlantis still loved him for some reason.

Atlantis finally went inside the castle and greeted his father "Blessing and glory to the sun of the Obelian empire" Atlantis kneeled Claude looked at his son and said "I heard from Felix about how well you are performing in your sword fighting" A small smile crept on Atlantis face he was relieved to hear that his father was pleased by his performance.

"Since you have done so well I am sending you to the battlefield" Atlantis was shocked, Felix who was still standing there said "Your majesty, sure the prince is doing a-a great job b-but he is s-still too young" "I am sure he will do just fine plus I went to war at his age and if he dies then I guess that will just prove that he is not good enough for the throne" answered Claude "I shall go to the battle and fight the enemies if that is what it takes for you to be proud of me," said Atlantis with confidence.

It had been six months and the battle was finally over Atlantis had won now in a normal situation one would say Obelia had won or the king's army had won but in this one, we wouldn't because this was more of a victory to him than the nation because sure he fought the war to protect the kingdom but moreover he did it to prove to his father that he was worth his responsibilities.
