Midway through eating my lunch, I get a call from Tara,
"Hi Tara. You okay?"
"No, it's Darcy."
"Whats happened?"
"She's in hospital."
"Tara, why!"
"Her mum got super angry and stabbed her in the thigh, please will you get the others and come to the hospital!"
"Yes, of course. What about her mum?"
"I called the police straight away and then the ambulance.
She has been taken in for questioning."
"We will be there soon, for now stay calm."
I tell Charlie that we need to go now and I thank Tori and Michael for lunch.
"What's happened?"
"Doesn't matter just get in the car we need to get Tao, Elle, Imogen and Sahar.
We arrive at the hospital and find Tara paseing in the waiting room.
"How's Darcy."
"In surgery and hopefully doing okay!"
"Oh, Tara. Do you need a hug?" we all ask
"Yes, please." She says sobbing
"Now Tara, do you need anything?" Charlie asks tentivally
"Well I still haven't had breakfast or lunch and I could do with some clean clothes."
"Do you want me to go and grab you some food and pack you a bag of clothes as you might be here for some time." I ask
"Oh, Nick what would I do without you?"
"Guys, does anyone want a coffee?" Sahar asks
"Yes!" We all say
"Tara Jones?" A hospital nurse calls
"Yes," She calls back, "Is Darcy Olsson ok?"
"She is absolutely fine, how ever she won't be able to walk for 8 months and possibly longer." The nurse says
"That's fine. Just as long she is alive that's the main thing." Tara says smiling with tears running down her face "can I see her?"
"Yes. Follow me." The nurse says
As Tara leave the waiting room, Sahar and her girlfriend -Imagon- bring back the coffee.
"Guys, who wants to come to grab some dinner and Tara's clothes."
"I'll come," Elle calls "I want Tara to atleast look fashionably stressed."
Elle and I walk to my car and start talking about all the stuff we don't tell everyone else.
"How's Charlie," she says
"Yeah, he's good and think he is excited for the wedding.Fuck! Omg I forgot to tell you guys."
"OMG! Nick, Thats amazing congratulations." Elle says jumping up and down on her seat
"Well then I might as well tell you my news, I am going to be a Mum "
"Oh, Elle! Congratulations."
When we get to Tara's apartment, Elle unlocks the door and goes to grab Tara and Darcy some clothes.
And I walk down the street to grab us all Chinese takeaway. And then we get back in the car and drive back to the hospital. Back to our families. Back to Charlie.
