Chapter 16: tracking site-97 pt 2

The wait was long and Aurora was starting to think they were having more troubles then intended. Aurora sighed as she laid down in her bed staring at the plushies around the room. Kitty knocked on the door and opened it, he seen that Aurora was looking a little bummed and wanted to cheer her up. He pushed open the door to reveal a slice of her favorite cake. Aurora looked up at kitty and the slice of cake and smiled.

Kitty placed the cake on her nightstand and smiled at her and patted her head.

Mr.K: don't be so sad Aurora, I'm sure these things just take time and patience. Give it some time, you'll see that it's all gonna work out.

Aurora: I guess.....do you think, that maybe I'm forcing it too much?

Mr.K: forcing what to much?

Aurora: my paranoia about this alliance, asking for personal files on people from other facilities, asking for them to track locations that's meant to be hidden. Am I taking this too far? Am I being over protective?

Mr.K: I don't think so, I think you're doing what you feel you have to, to save and protect and defend the backrooms, our home. It may seem like your doing to much but your doing more then enough for us.

Aurora smiled and sat up.

Aurora: thank you kitty.

As Aurora was starting to feel better and take a bite of her cake another knock is heard on her door. Both Aurora and kitty look up and hear Esther's voice. Aurora smiles and yells for her to come in, the door opens and Esther walks in with a file in her hand and holds it up proudly.

Esther: guess what I goooot~

She says in a sing song voice feeling proud of her and her team's hard work. Aurora beamed with happiness and quickly stood up and rushed to her.

Aurora: you got em!

Esther: yup! With seconds to spare before you got kicked out, aaaand as a bonus we was able to copy the entire website to our computers and now we have access to the SCP data base and classified data base and we don't have to worry about it getting hacked. Just a bit of a flex you know.

Aurora giggled with happiness as Esther gave Aurora the files.

Esther: those can be your personal copies we already added the originals to our files and I sent them out to everyone's data base so n our website. The files got tons of likes and everyone is already asking when will we get our get back and raid them like they tried to raid us. It's funny really. For site 97 specifically I would tread carefully. They aren't that heavily guarded but you have to get to level heaven to reach it and find level heavens weak spot to noclip to site 97.

Auroras eyes widened.

Aurora: level...heaven? But that's one of the hardest levels to get to, I think we all can agree based off what we know about the possibilities of getting in at random is a 1/10000 percent chance, at that point you don't even decide if you can go to the level the level chooses for you. Like it chooses when it wants you in and out. How do we go there willingly?

Esther: actually as hard as it is to get to, to reach the level by technical force you have to go through one of the most dangerous levels. And what's the opposite of heaven?

Mr.K: level 666, welcome to hell.

Esther: yup, level welcome to hell. The level where just like in 97 you have to face your worst fears times 100 and do the ritual to get out and be sent to level heaven, find the weak spot and noclip through to reach site 97.

Aurora: UGH why couldn't site 97 be connected to level 97. Makes our jobs easier.

Esther: yeeeea I hoped it would be that way too. I don't support you and your team going to dangerous level if you really don't need to. But fun fact level 97 the animated kingdom is connected to another SCP site. Site 76.

Aurora: bruh!

Esther: I also got some more information on your archangel guy, you should take a look when you can, but I gotta get back to my team before they blow something up in my lab again. I can't afford another reservation, to many set backs and deadlines missed cause of the first one. Especially with our new research.

Mr.kitty: what kind of new research?

Esther: weeell I didn't wanna say anything buuuut, we wanted to try mixing DNA from two different entities to create new entities. I know playing god isn't something we all support but trust me, this is for a good cause.

Aurora: right, what kind of entities are you using?

Esther: well we're using two entities we think have similar DNA in hopes the the DNA's will mix with no problems, it's a dangerous practice and could fail if your not super cautious but I think we nailed it. We used partygoer DNA and Smiler DNA.

Mr.Kitty: woah, that's a deadly combo, especially since both entities aren't exactly friends nor are they friendly.

Esther: that's where training comes in. We gained partygoers before smilers are hard to catch and our midnight room isn't finished so without knowing how smiler DNA truly works this is a shot in the dark, but we're falling behind and can't wait another two months for this so we had to start without the smiler research.

Aurora: how is that going?

Esther: trials and errors were inevitable but, it's starting to work. We're calling it project PartySmiler. And she's going to have the stealth of a partygoer, camaflouge in the dark like smilers, surprise attacks like partygoers, the speed of smilers, and have a deadly bite like smilers AND partygoers. So half and half.

Aurora: sounds like a complex project, I can't wait to see the end result.

Esther: she'll be introduced to MEG and ASYNC members only, if SCP knew they would definitely take her away, if their alliance wasn't fake now it definitely will be once they see us playing god. We can't let them know which is why the creation of this project is taking place in my other lab in one of the other levels to keep from peeping tons in the SCP.

Aurora: smart, we should check it out some time. I'll look through these files right away and try to come up with a plan on how we're gonna get this done.

Esther: that's a good idea, and I'd work quick cause latest records show he's a trainee. If he reaches operator you'll loose your secret weapon.

Aurora: what?! Dammit! Come on kitty we need to plan now and get moving tonight, we can't let him get past his current status.

With that Esther said her goodbyes and gave Aurora a bag with her laptop in it. Aurora opened her laptop and did as much research as she could with the short amount of time she had, last she checked he wasn't even a cadet but and now he's almost at operator status? How did this happen so fast? Didn't matter, she had to work even faster or else she'll loose the only chance she has to help her team win this war for a second time.

Even though nobody has said it the fate of the backrooms and her team relies on getting archangel on their side, if they don't have a secret weapon they will loose for sure, using their old tactics won't work, and even with Esther's project theirs no telling how well it will work when they need it most, Aurora had no time for mistakes or slip ups. The pressure was on and she was the last hope once again of saving this home like last time. Taking what Esther said into consideration "trial and error is inevitable" Aurora had to think of all possible ways her plan could fail, what she would do to make sure it didn't.

Constant eye darting across a bright screen, tons of sketches and drawings, tons of typing at her keyboard and definitely tons of bathroom and snack breaks later Aurora had what she thought was the ultimate plan, a plan she believed wouldn't fail if done right, she sent the plan to her phones and got her team to gather her things and head out, she was so proud of this plan their was no way she would fail.

But little did she know, her desperation to save the home she cares for and the pressure of her failing was weighing on her more then she realized, and she would soon learn her plan did have one thing she left out, one hiccup that will cost her. The fear of loosing wasn't her biggest obstacle, it was worse...

The fear...of Failing....
