"Hey! See that guy over there?"
"Yeah?"
"In exactly two hours, he's gonna come and wake you up, and escort you out, okay? You're gonna meet me down at the beach. I'm gonna be about half an hour behind you, but there'll be a dinghy waiting. "Make sense?"
"I think so."
"Okay, good. I'll see ya down there."
"Where are you going?"
"I gotta go mug a guy for a dinghy."
"Oh, okay."
"Hey, get some sleep."
True to his word, the man woke him two hours later. Stede got up and hurried to the beach, waiting patiently for his lover. After what seemed like an eternity, Ed arrived with a boat and something hidden behind his back.
"What's that?"
"I got something for you... Thought you'd like these."
Ed revealed a bouquet of wild flowers. "Oh, Edward..." Stede was too surprised to say much more. He simply moved forward and kissed Ed gently.
"Do you like them?"
"I LOVE them!!" He took the flowers, closed his eyes slightly as he smelled them, and the sight melted Blackbeard's heart.
"Shall we?" Ed pointed at the dinghy.
After they both got in, they shared one more kiss before starting their journey. A journey to a new, happy life where they could be together.
