Look at what he did again. Now I'm left to clean up his mess. My cheeks flushed red more from anger than embarrassment. I shoot the teacher (I think Willow called her K? Whatever that meant) an awkward smile and say a silent sorry and say,"He does that sometimes. His temper is..."

I try to think of a human term for this. But K just smiled and said,"Maybe you can go calm hime down."

I was already out the door.

I walked around aimlessly, until I could sense that Zack was near. I knew. I always knew.

I reached for my temples and called for Zack. Mentally. It was a thing we could do since we were kids. Zack? Where are you dude? Ughhhh... Don't make me find you.

"I'm right here," Zack said, his hand on my shoulder made me jump. I know I should be used to his invisibility but it still scares me sometimes. Almost everyone in Lion's Gate has at least one special ability. I mean besides the trolls and goblins and gnomes—basically just us elves.

"I told you not to do that anymore," I frown at what I hope was Zack. I realise how stupid I must look, talking to air.

I glanced around furtively and hissed,"Come back to class."

"No, I'm just fine here," Zack replied, his voice sounding far.

"Hey, come back!" I groaned, grasping air in front of me. I felt him getting further away. I close my eyes and concentrated. I heard footsteps. Soft, but there. I sensed his presence. Getting further. Twelve steps to my front. 15 to my right. 13 back. I grabbed his arm and started dragging him back to the classroom.

"You aren't going anywhere else. We aren't supposed to cause trouble. First day of school and you have to apologise to the teacher. I guess I can't say I'm surprised."

"No way am I apologising. No. Way." Zack stood still. It was nearly impossible to pull him.

"Suck up your stupid ego and apologise. You know how important this is."

"Actually, I don't. No one told me anything about this mission. Nothing. He doesn't even trust us enough to know what is going on! To think that I will follow his instructions and sit here, pretending that I don't care about something that angers me? Why? He didn't bother to say anything. Didn't answer our questions and we are supposed to be his little puppets, obeying his every command and 'bring the girl back'. What's the point of this?" Zack seethed. With every word, he became more and more visible.
