[Hello readers, Miss Manatee here. I wrote this story when I was younger and I unfortunately lost the password to it! But, I recently got the password back, six years later! I decided since I dont like leaving things unfinished that I would finish this story and start by rewriting each chapter before I post new chapters my writing style having changed a bit, so I hope you enjoy it!]
"Respect was invented to cover the empty place where love should be."
O.N.E.
'Elizabeth Angelique Schroeder. That's my name. My extremely long, over the top, a little bit old sounding name. I'm not extremely fond of it, but it's not like I picked it out--so I can't be too bummed about it I suppose. I'm writing this in an effort to set the record straight in my head. This is my life... My once sad,and boring, but recently turned exciting life. Should I start from the beginning? I want to keep a record of how I went from being your typical "edge lord", to spending my spare time on a laptop that my recent--and only--famous friend bought me to keep me occupied while on tour?
Ill begin shortly... but first, I must tell you that it is not going to be an easy tale to tell at times. You have been warned. '
- THE BEGINNING -
It started five months ago. A lot can happen in five months, and Eliza was sure to realize that. She was in her bedroom, moving a cat laser pointer around with her cat, Hugh bouncing around playgully. Seems like silly name for a cat, really. However, it would later prove to be quite ironic--and all that aside he never seemed to mind that name to begin with, or she would have had the mind to change it.
Eliza had been playing with Hugh and his little laser light, and painting as well, for a few hours after school seeing as she had already finished her calculus homework in that dreadfully boring detention classroom after school hours. She had been sentenced to detention for three weeks after school due to a rather heated argument with the principal over the lack of vegetarian meals for the thirteen vegetarians that were going to a school of over a thousand. The argument in question was in the form of a mini-protest involving the other twelve vegetarian students blocking the cafeteria door, with the hopes of seeing some results. However, the only thing she and her partners in crime were given were detention sentences, calls to their respective families and sent home for the day.
The good news out of all of that was that Eliza had very good standings with the Administration of the school and though she helped organize the makeshift protest, she wouldnt be suspended since this was her first 'episode', for lack of better word. The principal chose not to suspend her and the others and gave them three weeks detention instead. Eliza would have enjoyed the suspension, however she took it as it was and went on with her time.
One thing her principal said to her when grilling her over incident was that he hoped she would spend her time in detention thinking over what the word respect really meant.
FIVE.MONTHS.AGO.
"Elizabeth, darling, do come downstairs; there is someone we want you to meet." Eliza's mom came into the bedroom and stopped to stare at the mess her daughter was making on her balcony. Her cat, Hugh, was fussing with the laser that Eliza was holding in her left hand nonchalantly as she painted on a tiny canvas in front of her. Her right hand was covered with many colors of pastels, willow charcoal, and an assortment of paint. Eliza's nearly new jeans were covered loosely by a sham to help prevent paint from falling onto the denim, but it did not do a very good job in her mothers eyes.
