Fractured glasses, torn fabric, and splotches of blood where the only things anyone could find in regards to the professor. No one was truly sure what had happened. But you were certain it couldn't be anything good.

And with the clouds overhead turning dark and gray only served as a stark reminder of the situation. The first few raindrops soon falling from the heavens before they grew intense and came crashing down upon you. Shattering upon the ocean's surface and causing much larger waves than normal that rocked the boat. And you couldn't help but wonder if perhaps nature itself was mourning your misfortune as well.

The rest of your classmates exchanged worried glances to each other when you all returned to the boat. Their faces etched with fear and confusion now. Turning to the captain for some kind of answer on what to do. But he could only give you all a grim look.

"I've searched the boat thoroughly and there is just no way to repair the engine. I tried using the communication system, but even that has been glitching out. We'll be stuck here until help arrives." He announced.

More panic surged through the group. Most of them beginning to shout in frustration. Yet their voices were soon lost in the sudden thunder.

Evelyn stood beside you with a perplexed look as she attempted to calm Ophelia who had started to cry hopelessly. "Panicking right now isn't going to help any of us. We have to stay calm and take shelter for tonight."

"Exactly. You all shouldn't be acting like such babies! It's not like we're completely stranded," Elias chimed in.

"I suppose we aren't exactly.." You sigh softly at that, attempting to stay calm as well. Yet even your mind couldn't help but race at the thought that it would take a while before any help actually arrived.

"Alright.." The captain spoke up again with a sigh. "You kids can stay in groups and reside in the guest rooms for now then. We'll decide what to do from there once the storm passes."

Everyone cautiously agreed to his suggestion. Soon getting out of the rain and going down into the bottom of the boat to get to the guest rooms.

You ultimately ended up following after Elias, who still kept a fairly confident demeanor as he turned the doorknob to one of the room's. "Alright, hurry up you three and get in here."

Hurrying inside, you glanced down at your soaked clothes that were rather noticeable now. Along with your (h/c) hair that had little drops of water seeming to fall off. Though, with that in mind there seemed to be quite a bigger problem than just being cold and wet as you looked around the room. There was only two beds within the room.

"Um... What should we do about the beds?" You asked them. Quite confused about how you could make this work.

Elias shrugged at that as Evelyn and Ophelia looked on.

That was when Ophelia spoke up hesitantly. Seeming unsure by her own idea. "Why don't we try to push the beds together? They seem big enough for the four of us to fit on them together."

Evelyn nodded at that, seeming to appreciate the suggestion. "We can try it." She replied, going over to one of the beds to ever so slowly push it towards the middle of the room. "One of you please help me! And then someone else needs to go push the other bed."

"I'll do it." You quickly prepared yourself and went to help her put the bed in the middle. Elias and Ophelia going over to the other one. Soon managing to create a somewhat comfortable sleeping arrangement. Evelyn had then found towels in one of the closets which helped to somewhat dry you off enough.

And finally you all settled in for the night. The storm outside seeming to be the only thing that filled the silence. Continuing its relentless assault on everything.

"I really hope help gets here soon..." Ophelia whispered into the darkness of the room.

Evelyn sighed softly, huddling up under the blanket. "I'm sure it'll be fine. We just have to wait and see."

However, you frowned at her words. Not quite believing them, but nonetheless hoping she was right. And although sleep was the last thing on your mind, you forced your eyes to shut.

Unbeknownst to anyone, was that the same dangerous pinprick like eyes continued to watch the boat from within the wooded areas of the island. Similar to a predator waiting to strike the oblivious prey again as it bidded its time in the darkness.
