Part 57 | Heaven

"Babe?"

Anya lifts her head from Kyun's bare chest, finally able to speak after he loved her a third and a fourth time. The demon's head turns down to her.

"Yes, babygirl?"

"How long have you had the suspicion, about us, the bond and everything? When I told you I love you for the first time you didn't, did you?"

Kyun lets his fingertips glide over her cheek. He wishes Magnus would've told him sooner, he wishes he would've known sooner so that he could have responded to her confession the way she deserved it.

"I've had the bonding theory for a while but every time I was certain, I had to remind myself why it's impossible..." he explains and Anya wonders if she could've helped Kyun to figure this out if she knew about all this.

"When Magnus told me..." He kisses her forehead softly. "I still was convinced that none of this is real. I refused to believe that something like this could have happened to me. I learned over the years that hell grants you nothing. But in the past two weeks I've...felt it. So clearly. I couldn't stay away from you, every moment with you was a blessing. I can say without a doubt that I was never happier than when I was here with you, doing nothing at all. I only looked at you and my heart...exploded..."

Anya smiles at his words. He hid it well, though, looking back at this now... she could recall hundreds of little moments when she could see him restraining the urge to touch her.

"Seeing you in that bikini the whole day was a nightmare!" he suddenly groans. "Most of the time I was only pretending to read when I was actually recalling every horrible memory from hell to not get a fucking boner!"

She throws her head back, laughing.
This poor demon.

"And I thought you didn't want me anymore after we had sex..."

Kyun sighs and eyes her for a long moment as his hand caresses her cheek. "I told you, it requires a lot of strength to not rip the clothes off your body every second I am with you. When we kissed in the water yesterday...that was me not being able to hold back from you a single second longer..."

Again, she smiles until something crosses her mind. "Wait!" She sits up. "So last night when you told me you can pretend to love me... you weren't pretending!"

Kyun bites his lip, grinning. "A very poor attempt to get close to you without revealing the truth..."

She shakes her head, laughing. Can't believe he made all of this so unnecessarily complicated only because he was scared of her reaction. He pulls her to his chest again and keeps on caressing her body, peppers her face with soft kisses, making sure to give her the aftercare he failed to give her the first time they had sex.

"Can I ask you another thing?" she asks eventually without looking at him, her fingertips drawing lazy circles on his chest.

"Of course!"

"Even if it's a question about Alistair?"

Kyun furrows his brows and lifts her head up to him again. "Babygirl, I'm done keeping secrets, I'm done leaving you in the dark. Ask away, I will answer all you questions!"
