Jewel's POV
It's been five weeks and still no Jacob. Charlie made the posters and nothing. Billy still doesn't seem worried, like he knows where Jacob is. Just won't tell Charlie. But I can't focus on the right now, it's time for Bella and Edward's wedding. Jax and I have been deshedded, bathed, had our nails and teeth done. Jax escaped to outside once he had his bow-tie on, along with the pouch with the rings. I told him not to get dirty.
I'm laying by Bella as Rosalie and Alice do her hair & make up. Suddenly I hear a pair of feet on the stairs outside. I cock my head and then lift it scenting the air. I smell Charlie and someone else. I wag my tail happily. "Alice? Bella?" a woman calls.
"In here, mum!" Bella calls. Alice and Rosalie have finished her hair & make up. I sit up, guess I'm finally gonna meet Bella's mother. A young woman enters.
"Oh, my gosh! You're so beautiful. Oh, honey" she gushes as tears form in her eyes. "Crap! My mascara!" she exclaims and Alice holds a hanky out to her. She takes t with a grateful smile dabbing at her eyes. "Thanks. Charlie, get in here!" she calls.
"You sure? I don't wanna..." he starts to say as he enters the room. We all star at him. I cock my head to the side, I'd never seen him in a suit. "I know. I look hot" he states and the girls laugh. I yip happily wagging my tail.
"Is this Jewel?" Bella's mum asks. I believe her name is Renee.
"Yes" Bella tells her and Renee holds her hand out to me. I sniff and let her pat me gently.
"She's gorgeous and so soft" she praises and my tail wags harder.
"She's been to a proper groomer to be ready for the day. Along with Jax, where is the little rascal?" Charlie asks.
"Outside, don't worry I have Jasper making sure he doesn't get dirty" Alice assures him. "Everything will be perfect" she declares.
"Speaking of, we got you something Bella" Renee tells her.
"We thought you needed something blue" Charlie states. He opens the gift box containing a jeweled hair comb. With blue gems in it. "And something old. Besides your mother" he adds cheekily.
"Nice" Renee says rolling her eyes.
"It was Grandma Swan's" Charlie tells Bella as she picks up the hair comb examining it.
"But we added the sapphires" Renee adds.
"It's beautiful, you guys. Wow. Thank you so much" Bella tells them with a bright smile. Handing the hair comb to Alice. Allowing her to put it into her hair.
"It's your first family heirloom. Pass on to your daughter, and her daughter" Renee rambles on. As she starts to cry again.
"Mom, I love it" Bell says and goes to hug her. But Alice stops her.
"Nope. No smudging my masterpiece" she tells her. I doubt one hug would ruin anything.
"She's right" Renee agrees.
"Okay. Time for the dress! Do you wanna see it?" Alice asks grabbing a garment bag.
"We'll wait downstairs" Charlie states. "Come Jewels" he says and I follow him. I can sense he is nervous and nudge his hand gently. "I'm ok girl" he assures me. We don't have to wait long with Bella and the others to come down. Bella stays with us while the others go take their seats.
We soon hear the music begin to play, that's our que. Bella links her arm through Charlie's. Who asks if she is ready. "Yeah. Just don't let me fall, Dad" she tells him.
"Never" Charlie assures her. We go outside and I lead the way down the aisle. We managed to make it to the end without trouble. Charlie and I took out seats as the ceremony began. It was beautiful. Afterwards, the wedding certificate was signed and the reception began. Jax was begging everyone for food, the cheeky boy. Me I was content just to lay by a tree watching the party happen. I'm sure Jax will join me when he gets tired of pigging out.
Bella and Edward went inside to change after the party. We all gathered outside to see them off for their honeymoon. Jax leaning on me trying not to fall asleep. Once they left, Charlie took Jax and I home. When we arrived, he had to carry a sleeping Jax inside. I went to my bed and curled up once Charlie removed the floral collar from around my neck.
Charlie praised me for a job well done today. Before grabbing some clothes and going to the bathroom to get ready for bed himself. I rest my head over Jax back and let sleep take me. Exhausted from the day's events. Glad I won't have to do that again anytime soon. Unless Charlie finds someone and decides to get married again. Which might happen as he has been hanging out with Sue a lot.
