Ashton had been being extra sweet ever since he returned from tour, so you decided that he deserved a nice gift. You walked the streets, spying in each store, hoping to find just the thing. You walked past another shop, glancing at the wonderful things inside, when you spotted Ashton. Without thinking, you walked faster, hiding in a small gap between shops. You heard his voice get louder and your heart started to race, hoping he wouldn't notice your figure hiding in the shadows. He walked past, too distracted by another girl. You felt your heart start to slowly sink, your mind starting to throw excuses. It must be an old friend from school, or a fan maybe. Cautiously, you squeezed out and started to head in the direction that you'd seen them walk. You looked carefully, left and right, not seeing what your heart had hoped. Ashton's hands gently gripped the girl's waist, like he always had done to you, her hands softly caressing his stubble covered jaw. You watched as she set her lips onto his, moving them sweetly in sync. The burning in your stomach almost got too much to handle, until they pulled away. She mouthed 'I love you' to him, a smitten smile on her lips, as he repeated the three words, a similar smile glued to his face. You were too hurt and shooken that he would do this to you, that you couldn't gather the anger that most women were supposed to feel. Instead it was heartbreak and mistrust. Barely holding back tears, you walked up to Ashton, setting your hand on his arm to snag his attention. His eyes widened and he inhaled a sharp breath before hanging his head, no excuse available. "Ash, I don't think this is going to work out between us anymore." You tried not to sound too unstable.
The other girl stood there, seeming not so fazed.
"I'm sorry you had to find out like this." His words sounded like sweet sorrow, enough to make you forgive him and run right into his arms.
"Me too, Ash. Just make sure I'm not home before you grab your things, okay?" You turned, almost in a jog to find the nearest bathroom where you could freely let out all your emotions.
