LaurelPaw's POV

I waited for DustyStar's signal and raced into four trees. RunningPaw and CloudPaw were beside me but I ignored him. I smelled riverclan and shadowclan so far. But no windclan. As soon as we got down RunningPaw tried to talk to me but I ignored him.
"LaurelPaw please listen." He begged "I need you to understand!" I ignored him still.
"LaurelPaw I like CloudPaw!" He went on.
"I know!" I hissed. "You already told me that!"
"LaurelPaw you don't understand!" He was right beside me now. "Just meet me here after the gathering!"
"I won't come..." I retorted and walked off and bumped into a windclan apprentice. They had arrived.
"Oof! Hey watch it!" I growled.
"Your the one who pushed me!" He hissed. He had black fur and yellow eyes. I rolled my eyes.
"I haven't seen you before." He told me. "Are you a rouge? A KittyPet?"
"No I'm a twoleg." I confirmed. "Just shush DustyStar will tell everyone."
"Okay then..." He said sitting near the great rock and I went beside him. I looked back at RunningPaw. CloudPaw was with a riverclan apprentice. He just looked at me talking to a windclan cat. I thought I could see a hint of sadness in his eyes.

RunningPaw's POV

As soon as a we got to the gathering CloudPaw went off with a riverclan cat and they started laughing and talking. I could hardly make out their words but when she saw him they touched noses. He was complimenting her I could see.

To make the matters worse I saw LaurelPaw with a windclan cat, I think his name is CrowPaw. They were hissing then calmed down. Now I don't know what to do, I don't know if CloudPaw was a good choice.

DustyStar started the gathering and told about his kits becoming apprentices. Then he explained LaurelPaw. I saw CrowPaw gaze at her with curiosity. She was in a better mood now so while the other leaders were talking I went up to her.
"Hi" I said.
"What do you want now?" She asked flatly. Her voice was cold but I could tell she was still getting over me and CloudPaw.
"LaurelPaw I was wrong to choose CloudPaw without thinking about you. And I thin-" she cut me off.
"I'm over it." She pronounced looking down.
"I'm sorry." I told her. "She's gone off with DropPaw and I don't know who she'll choose."
"So you came crawling back to me." Her voice was strange and cracky, she looked away.
"No I need you to spy on her." I decided how I needed her. "Your a quite stalker and you'll make a good spy." She was shocked.
"I can do that." She seemed happy. "And CrowPaw can help. We'll all meet here after the gathering!" CrowPaw rolled his eyes.
"This will be... Interesting..." He replied. "Do I have to go to the thunderclan camp?"
"Maybe..." I nodded.

LaurelPaw's POV

After the gathering we hid behind a tree until every cat had left.
"So what's the plan?" I asked.
"There's mud on the edge of our two territories." CrowPaw started to tell us. "You can rub mud on yourself to help you blend in. Me and RunningPaw have dark pelts."
"Oh no!" I repeated over and over until we got to the mud. "I'm not doing it!"
"Yes you are!" CrowPaw and RunningPaw picked me up by the scruff and threw me in. I tried to squirm out but they held me down till I was covered.

We went to where the riverclan and thunderclan boarder and saw them.
"No..." RunningPaw whispered sorrowfully. CloudPaw's tail was entwined with DropPaw's. Their fur touching.
"Do we wreck the party?" I ask quietly.
"No meet tomorrow just go back to your clans and LaurelPaw wash." CrowPaw laughed.
Me and RunningPaw went to a small pool of water and I washed my fur.
"Why don't you ask CloudPaw to be your mate." I suggest. "If we jump out on acting likes mates we'll have the advantage."
"Good idea" he replied.

The next day RunningPaw asked CloudPaw to officially be his mate and she said yes. There was nothing left to do but wait for tonight. We met that night at four tree's and watched them from the border while I was covered in mud.
"On my lead." Whispered CrowPaw and he jumped out. We followed.
"What are you doing CloudPaw?!" Exclaimed RunningPaw. "I thought I was your mate!"
"This isn't what it looks like!" CloudPaw stuttered.
"We saw you yesterday as well!" I countered as DropPaw swam across the river and disappeared.
"RunningPaw. DropPaw used to be from thunderclan when we were kits!" She told him. "I loved him and you!"
"You can't choose both!" RunningPaw shouted.
"I loved you more!" She squealed like a kit at the thought of loosing him. "I was about to tell him we can't be mates but you stopped me!"
"He's from a different clan!" CrowPaw countered.
"Says you windclan cat!" She scoffed, "why are you here?"
"We let the poor Windclan cat tag along..." RunningPaw said and CrowPaw hissed and tried to protest .
"Don't tell DustyStar..." She mewled, "he'll banish me..."
"No he won't..." I said, "he wouldn't do that..."
"I don't care if you tell him or not then!" She growled back, "I'm going back to camp!" She stormed off.
"I should get back to camp," CrowPaw mewed from behind me. "Maybe see you guys at a patrol" he shrugged and left
"LaurelPaw? We should go too..." RunningPaw wrapped his tail around me. "You tired?" I nodded.

The previous night CloudPaw clearly stated she wanted to be mates with RunningPaw but he ignored her. She curled up by herself on the edge if the apprentice den. The rest of us curled up tight together.
