POV: Lee Know

I sprint through the shadows, trying my best to ignore the pain in my body. It's raining so my visibility is low and the ground isn't giving me good traction. One wrong move and I'm on the ground. I fear that I won't be able to get up if I fall. They got me pretty good I'll give 'em that.

I also have no damn clue where I am. Nor do I know if I'm on the wrong person's territory.

Tall buildings surround me, no sign of people inside of them. The streets are bare, only an occasional cat passing by. All that can be heard is the frantic stomp of my footsteps clashing against the soft patter of raindrops.

My breathing is erratic but I can't stop running. Something about that place messed with me. I don't usually react like this. I want to be home.

As if the universe heard my pleas my surroundings begin to look familiar. The dark building almost completely camouflaged into the night. That's home.

I run faster, heading for the back of the building where the basement door is. Someone should be watching the cameras. They'll know.

My destination comes into view, my heart pounding harder in desperation and fatigue.

I reach the door, giving our sign to the camera before knocking on the door in the Morse code of our group name. Then I finally let myself stop. I lean back against the brick wall and slide down to the ground.

My wounds, lack of sleep, and adrenaline wearing off begin to catch up to me. Pre-syncope taking over.

Just as my vision is going out again I hear the door open, briefly see the light come on, and hear my members talking to me.

I don't react, letting myself give in to my very injured being.

I can do that.

I'm home.

———

That Lucy girl got me good. A fractured rib, multiple bruises, way too many stitches, malnourished, dehydrated. I am not in very good shape.

"Hey Min, how are you feeling? Any worse?" Seungmin asks, popping his head in my bedroom door.

"Do I look like I want to do back flips? Not worse though" I respond, being as honest as possible for our best medic.

Seungmin walks in, closing the door behind him. He takes a seat on the edge of my bed, staring into his lap before looking back up to me. "I'm sorry to ask, but we need to know what happened. Anything you can remember."

Fair. I'd want to know too if it was any of the others. "Um.. I remember slipping into a shadow to avoid someone. But I didn't realize there was a person there. The person restrained me and then it goes blank."

"Take your time, don't force too much" He reassures, being patient as always.

I take a deep breath, trying to recall as much as I can. "The next I remember is being in a locked and sealed room with no windows, shackled at the ankle to a long chain connected to the floor, and the lights being off. From there everything is kind of fuzzy. Moments of lucidity I had were disturbed by more questions and subsequent torture upon giving no answers. The next time I'm lucid enough to remember is when the girl came. That was the night I came home."

"Girl? Is she the one that did this to you?" Seungmin asks, trying to track my memories.

"No! Not this girl. This girl is the one that snuck me out" I correct him, not wanting her mixed in with those horrible people.

"Oh, well tell me about that. How did you get out?" He questions, even more intrigued at my protective tone.

"I was sitting on the floor staring down into my lap. By this point I had forced myself into an emotionless state in order to survive. Lucy I think her name is came in but she brought someone with her. Lucy was incredibly short and mean to her, which was kind of weird as the girl was in training. She stood in the corner while Lucy tried extracting information from me again. It didn't work, as you can see. When Lucy left the girl she brought stood very still for a little bit. Like she was scared. But then she came and sat in front of me."

I look up to him, tears forming in my eyes as I recall this girl. "Seungmin, her eyes. She looked so unbelievably sad. She had obvious wounds on her. She was so small, but so strong. I mean she did break the chain off of me with an axe on the first try. Something about her is different but familiar at the same time. She looks like someone I know, gives off the same energy, but I can't quite place it."

"Did she tell you her name?" He asks, softening his voice at my surge of emotions.

I nod, "Y/N."

"Okay. Thank you. You've done well. Get some more sleep, I'll be back with pain killers alright?" He says, gently patting my shoulder with a smile.

I nod in response, too tired to continue speaking.

I hope Y/N is okay.
