From enemies to brothers

Ch-10- The ad shoot

Virat was excited as hell. He was going to do ad shoot with anushka and he couldn't wait,
which rohit took as a completely different thing and started to tease him with anushka despite him being already in a relationship. Rohit, for some reason, didn't want to understand that he was excited to work with her because he liked her as an actress and not as anything else.

"Virat and anushka sitting under a tree." Rohit began to sing in a bad voice.
"Ro, stop being childish." Virat said looking at him annoyed.

"What? You only said that you have a crush on her." Ro defended himself.
"I said I had a crush, which went away after Maya and I started a relationship."

"Why? Why did it have to go away? What if anushka is better suited for you?" Rohit asked.
Virat looked at him disapprovingly. "seriously, Rohit, i don't know what's wrong with you today." He said.
Just then his phone rang and it was Maya.

He picked it up immediately.
"Hello baby, I heard you are going to work with Anushka in an ad." She said.
"Yeah, I was going to tell you about it." Virat said cursing himself for forgetting to inform her.
"No, it's absolutely fine. Just be careful." She said.
Virat got confused. "Why?" He asked.
"I have heard thing about her. Some bad things."
"Anushka sharma?" Virat asked just to be sure because as far as he had heard, she was a very good human being.

"Yeah, her. Anyways it might just be rumours but it might also be true. So I just want you to be careful around her."
"Yeah, absolutely." Virat answered.
"Love you, bye."
"Love you too." Vi said and he cut the call only to see Rohit staring at him.

"What was she saying?" He asked in an irritated voice.
"What's it to you?" Virat became confused as Rohit never asked him like that before today.
"Just curious." Rohit said trying to hide the irritation he was feeling.
"You are acting weird today, but anyways, she was saying to be careful around Anushka because she has heard some bad things about her."

"Look who's talking." Rohit muttered under his breath.
"What did you say?" Vi asked.
"Nothing, just saying that she sounds jealous."
"Jealousy was the last thing that she sounded." Virat said. "she sounded more like loving and caring."
Rohit laughed mockingly. "Loving and caring." He said in a mocking tone.

"What's with your attitude today?" Virat snapped. "why are you hell bent on trying to annoy me?"

A sudden realization hit on Rohit's face. He turned serious and said in an apologetic tone "I am sorry, I did go overboard. Actually..uh.. I am just in a grumpy mood today." He patted himself internally to find an excuse at the last moment.

"Why?" Virat asked surprised.
"You are going for the ad shoot for so many hours, I will get bored here, alone."

"I offered you to come."
"No, if people will come to know that you me and anushka, all the three are on one set, you also know what will happen."

Vi nodded. "That's true. But it's only for a few hours
"Few hours?" Ro said shaking his head.
"Aww..I didn't know that you loved me so much that you couldn't even stay for some hours without me." Vi said laughing.
Rohit glared at him. "Shut up. I will just get bored, that's all."
"Liar." Vi said hitting ro playfully and ran away before ro could hit him.

In the late afternoon, vi reached the sets where the shooting would take place. He was taken inside where he saw Anushka.

They shook hands. "I am virat, nice to meet you." Vi said.
"You don't need to introduce yourself, everyone knows you." Anushka said smiling a little.

"I am pretty sure there are many people that don't know me, but thank you." Vi said being modest which made her chuckle.

At that moment the director also came in and instructed them on how they have to shoot and what they have to do.

To everyone's surprise, virat looked very natural for someone doing the ad for the first time and so they were able to wrap it up quickly.

"It was very impressive virat." Anushka said after they had wrapped up. "You can play cricket, you can act, please leave something for others too."

Virat smiled shyly. "Don't over praise me, or it will get in my head."

"And you are self aware too. Again, leave something for others too?"

"You are too kind." Virat replied. He then looked at his watch. "we have really finished it early, I thought it would take more time."

Anu nodded. "How about going to eat some snacks?" She asked. "Since we have so much time."

"People might recognize us." Virat said dejected. He wanted to go but if someone got to know it would spread like wildfire and Maya wouldn't like that.

"We will go in disguise. I have done it many times." Anu said.

Virat nodded. "That's a good idea."

Both of them disguised themselves and went to a cafe.

After they finished ordering, anu asked "so, virat tell me about your life. Do you have any siblings, cousins, step siblings?"

Virat who was drinking water, started coughing hearing the last two words.

"Are you alright?" Anushka asked acting innocent.

After composing himself, vi nodded. "Yeah, it's just that I have never heard someone ask about step siblings. Took me by surprise."

"My family members call me the most unique one. So you can guess why." Was her reply.

Vi chuckled trying to hide what he was really feeling hearing step sibling. "No, I don't have any siblings or step siblings. Only a few cousins."

"I have one elder brother and a few cousins. And no step siblings, of course."

"You are lucky." Virat muttered.

"Sorry, did you say something?"

"No, nothing." Vi shook his head quickly. "So tell me about your hobbies and interests." Vi said quickly changing the topic.

By the time they had completed their food, they had gotten to know much about each other.

"I am paying it." Vi said seeing Anushka take out her wallet to pay the bill.

"No, it was my idea so I will pay for it."

"No, let me pay. Consider it as my treat." Virat insisted.

"Let's split it." Anu suggested finally making vi nod as he knew she wouldn't let him pay the whole bill.

"It was nice talking to you, virat." She said after they had paid the bill. "Let's keep in touch?"

Virat nodded and gave her his phone number.

"I had a good time with you." Virat said as anu sat in her car.

"Me too." She replied and after saying goodbye, she drove away.

'She's so nice and kind, why did Maya asked to be careful?' vi wondered. Then he remembered she did say it were rumours and he knows better than to believe in rumours.

A/n: as everyone knows, virat does have siblings, but just for plot convenience, I have shown he doesn't have any.
