Princess Aurora👑

Wind is knocked out of my chest as my pale green corset gets tightened, 'on ancients I hate these things!' I can not stop myself from thinking.

Pale green is the only colour my parents will let me wear that is not purple or pink, it's also what, in my opinion, goes best with my wavy brown hair.

I have never understood why I have to wear a corset, no man I have ever met has made me want to dress to show off. In fact it's the total opposite, they make me want to cover up and wear clothes similar to a poor mans.

I do not have time to sulk and complain because my older brother, Cassian, knocks on the door. When we were younger we thought it would be funny to have our own secret knock to separate us from servants and parents, although we have grown older and out of these childish behaviours we still knock differently. It makes me feel bittersweet.

"Come in, Cassian." We also had different names for each other, but we stopped using them after the fight.

"Aurora." He acknowledges whilst stepping further into the room, "our carriage awaits us. We need to leave now in order to make it on time."

"Ok." I silently follow him down the millions of steps until we finally reach the door, a white carriage with golden flowers engraved around the sides is parked outside.

Cassian and I step into the carriage, he offers me a hand to get in as protocol and I bitterly take it. If there's one thing I hate more then corsets, it's carriage rides with my parents lecturing, criticising, or giving another etiquette lesson on the way.

"Aurora, sit up straighter. Cassian, straighten your collar you look ridiculous. Remember because it's only us visiting it's most likely to discuss an alliance by marriage, if you two are not on your best behaviour you will be deeply punished. In case you have forgotten the rules..." I look at her sincerely but drone her out.

I have the rules so engraved into my brain it's second nature, I would like to assume Cassian is in the same position because if he's not then he's just an out right idiot, nobody wants an idiot as a ruler. Idiots cause mistakes, mistakes cause distress, distress causes mutiny, mutiny only causes problems and possible dethronement.

And that would be such a pity. It's not like I will ever be queen, even if my brother dies with no heir this country would rather a 50th boy cousin then me as their ruler.

I do not know if anyone else has noticed but i would love to meet them, wether it be another princess, a queen, a maid, a servant, even a commoner. Meeting her would be my dream. A dream i have sadly had before, Lilith.
