Prince Kaiden✨

My whole body is filled with warmth as I snuggle into Cassian, last night we all fell asleep together and I made the risky decision to lay down on Cassians lap. Luckily, he made an even riskier decision to change our position so I was fully lying on top of him.

I can feel his steady heartbeat and breathing bellow me, it makes my heart ache in a way I can not describe.

He slowly begins to wake up, I decide to whisper to him in hopes he does not go back to sleep "morning, Cassian." He lets out a little groan then looks at me.

"Morning sunshine." Cassians morning voice and nickname makes me blush, he places a gentle kiss on my lips and I immediately want more but I hold myself back while Aurora and Ilena are sleeping in the room.

"What do you think the futures gonna be like?" He tiredly asks me,
"What do you mean?"
"Like, what do you want? Aurora wants to be queen, I'm assuming Ilena wants to be a knight or warrior something like that suits her, I want to be a sailor but what do you want to be?" I ponder telling him for a moment.

"I do not know. When I was younger I had dreams of being a mage swept off my feet by a loving prince and running away with him, but that is not happening anytime soon." I yawn and he pulls me as close as physically possible.

"Why not?" Cassian begins lazily playing with my hair, "i can be that prince." He whispers even more quietly then before.
"Where would we go?" I can only play along with the idea, it is never going to truly happen.

"To sea. Before we leave I will make a rule that Aurora is my heir no matter what, she will become queen. Ilena can stay with her and become her personal knight, she will become the warrior. We will leave for sea, I will become the sailor I have always wanted to be and you will be a mage swept off your feet." Cassian softly chuckles, my eyes sting threatening to cry.

"I do not think that is possible, my prince." I try my best to smile and keep a positive tone,
"But it is. It is if we make it."

"I believe you." Silence falls over us whilst I question myself whether to ask or not, ultimately I decide it's best to. "What happened between you and Aurora?" Cassian seems stunned for a moment before finally answering.

"We got into a massive fight. When we were younger she got her first girlfriend, I was so happy for them I just wanted the best for them. But one night I went looking into her girlfriends room, as Auroras older brother I thought it was my duty to make sure her girlfriend was fit for her. Under her girlfriends mattress I saw a dagger, a note, and a crumpled picture of Aurora. The note said, word for word:

'dear Lilith, it's your duty to carry out the journey your mother and I set out to do. We can not do any more, as your mother has fallen sick and might not make it another night. Gain Auroras trust, then use this dagger provided to kill her and spread fear across the kingdom. Escape before anyone realises it's you. Yours sincerely, your father.'" His voice quietens even more.

"I could not stand by and let something happen to her. So I did what I could, I sent Lilith into exile. She was left to die without any warm clothes or food, I have always felt guilt for what I did but I would not let anyone kill Aurora no matter the cost. Once Aurora found out I was the one who exiled Lilith she was furious. She loved Lilith more then she loved anything else, i once again could not be the one to tell her that the one she loved and cherished closest to her heart was actually set out to kill her."

"You should have told her, I am sure she would understand." I trace what I hope is comforting circles on his chest,
"It does not matter if she hates me, as long as she is happy."
