The alarm went off at 8:00 AM Hyunjin has a routine for his weekends too, less tight than week days. 30 minutes to shower 15 to get ready 15 to eat. He grabbed an outfit being a black hoodie and grey sweatpants. He finished his shower he got ready and went downstairs to eat. He noticed his mom was sitting down as if she was waiting for something so he ignored her and went to grab cereal.
"Did you argue with your friends yesterday" Why do mothers know everything? it's like they have an information collector that goes straight to their brain in every inch of the world. The pink haired boy stayed quiet, not wanting to recall what happened yesterday early in the morning. "Hyunjin, these are the only friends you have.. Are you going to tell me what happened?" Hyunjin grabbed a bowl and his favorite spoon, pouring the cereal in it and then the milk. He sat down on the other side of the table and sighed "I had an argument with Seungmin" "Why?" "I told him how I felt about him acting like I'm a child" "What do you mean?" Hyunjin remained silent, he didn't know what to say, he meant exactly what he just said there's no other explanation. "I mean...in what way" "He overworries and acts like I can't defend myself from mean people and he over does it for me.. Like if I was a child" "Mean people? Hyunjin are you being bothered at school?" "Yeah but it's not that big of a deal it's mostly just one person" "It's multiple people?! Hyunjin why didn't you tell me?!" Hyunjin sighed. "Because of how you're acting right now. No one listens to me and makes it a big deal when I say it's not because you all think I'm vulnerable."
He got up and took his cereal to his room. Why can't they just listen to him for once instead of assuming how he feels? He's 17 not 5. Hyunjin sat on his bed and started eating his, unfortunately, mildly soggy cereal. Turning on the TV and playing the cup head show. He went on his phone and surprisingly he had no DMS from Seungmin nor Jeongin. While scrolling on his phone and eating his cereal he realized, he didn't have anything to do most weekends. All he could do was paint but he had to be in the mood to do it. Yeah he was bad with people but he could just mask right? Plus, he needed some money for himself..sure his mom had a lot but he wants to buy his own things with his own money too.
After some propper research he settled in working at Starbucks, all he had to do was send a resume and he could start working tomorrow. They were low on employees so they were accepting about anyone as long as they met the requirements and they could stay if they passed the training the first few days. Hyunjin left his room and walked across the hallway to knock on his mothers door. He knocked in a 1,2 pause then 3 pattern, he always did. He hears a "come in" and he opened the door stepping inside. His mom was on her bed reading a book. "Mom can you help me do a resume" The tallers mom looked at him surprised, where was this coming from so suddenly? "You want to work? Are you sure?" Hyunjin who has zoned out a little and was playing with his fingers snapped out of it. "Yes, can you help me?" "Of course honey, also.. I'm sorry about earlier" "It's ok I think I freaked out a bit because of yesterday" "Maybe, but I also didn't hear you out when you said it wasn't a big deal" Hyunjin shaked his head and sighed. "It's fine, let's not have this conversation right now" "Okay" Mrs. Hwang and Hyunjin started working on the resume
It didn't take that long but some stuff confused hyunjin so she had to stop and explain to him a few times. They finished and she gave Hyunjin a copy of the resume, they made two just in case. Almost forgetting, she clipped a copy of his ADHD and ASD diagnosis on the back incase he needed accommodations or misunderstandings of his behavior were made. "Do you want me to go with you?" "No it's ok" Most of the time he did everything with someone but he felt like he needed to get out of his comfort zone for once. He called an Uber and told the driver where to go.
He arrived and surprisingly it wasn't full it only had about 5 people in it already enjoying their drinks and snacks. Hyunjin was glad that was the case, he didn't want to awkwardly stand in line just to bring in a resume. He stepped out of the door and told the driver to stay since it won't take long and closed the door making sure that his papers were in the folder He walked to the entrance and opened the door and made his way to the counter. There was no one for the first minute but then a freckled face made an appearance. The boy asked for his order but Hyunjin quickly corrected him. "Ah, no sorry I'm here to turn in my resume I got told to come here" Hyunjin couldn't help but notice a faint foreign accent when the boy spoke. "Oh! Thanks I'll make sure to give this to the manager, I'm Lee Felix!" The taller froze for a second, Felix, foreign accent. Was this the boy Jeongin had recently met? "A-ah" Cursing himself for stuttering in the inside he kept going with his sentence. "I'm Hwang Hyunjin" Felix tilted his head, that name seemed familiar for some reason. He kept thinking and then it clicked, Jeongins and Seungmins friend was named Hyunjin too. He wondered if this could possibly be the friend they spoke of. A uncomfortable silence settled between them untill the blonde broke it. "We'll make sure to contact you once the resume is processed" He said with a smile. "I'm also a rookie here so I can't really help much, I'm not even fully fluent in Korean yet" The blonde said with a giggle. Hyunjin blinked, not fully fluent in Korean? "I'm from Australia by the way" Oh. Yeah this IS the boy Jeongin recently met, I mean how could he not be.
Suddenly a voice came from the other side of the counter, not where felix was but where they store the things. "Felix I told you to stop having conversations with the costumers you're going to hold up the line" Said another blonde boy in full English as he walked to where Felix was. "Im not holding up the line it's just someone giving in their resume" He answered also in english. Chan looked at the pink haired boy. "Oh it's you" "you know him?" "Yeah he's in my class" This guy has literally never directed a word to Hyunjin in his life, the taller was beyond confused. "He sits infront one of my friends with this guy called Seungmin" "Wait- OH! Do you by any chance know someone called Jeongin aswell?" "yeah.." Hyunjin answered awkwardly. "Oh that's so cool! I was with them yesterday they talked about you" "What did they say?" "Oh uh" Felix searched everywhere in his brain for a lie not wanting to disclose what they were actually talking about. "I just remembered, I have to take care of something in the back ill give this to the manager when I'm finished though" Chan looked at the younger walk away puzzled. He darted his gaze away from Felix and then turned to face Hyunjin "So how-" "I think I'll hold up the line if I stay here any longer so I'm going, thank you" The taller bowed and left. He didn't feel happy that Chan was here, that could mean interaction with Jisung unexpectedly. Atleast Felix was kind though. Having someone neurodivergent in the workplace eased him down a little. Maybe he'll have someone that will finally understand him?.
