the sea and me

Pain is like an ocean -
You sometimes have to jump in
To wash away the grime
Of the life you're living.

Some people don't like the waves
So they stay out on the shore
I used to lay out in the suns rays
But I can't feel them anymore.

I've told you of the riptides pull
And you still don't understand
That It feels like you're in control
Till you've lost all sight of land.

And when I wake up in the morning
I'm lying on the sand.
With water in my lungs
Dizzily, I stand.

I've yet to reach the bottom
Of the deep blue sea
I know one day I'll get there,
As For now, it waits for me
