Knock Knock

When something's on your mind
And you need a distraction
Just give me a call
I'll be quick to take action

We don't have to talk
I can just listen
To the silence that surrounds us
When you keep all your words in

I can't crack you open
But I can hold you close
I can't get inside
If you let the locked door close

I want to come in
To see the paintings on your walls
But for now I peer through a window pane
And into the empty hall

I dream that one day
You will open up the door
You'll walk me to the kitchen
And we will dance around the floor

You would open the blinds
And let the light stream through
Light can't chase away shadows
But it can let me see you

For everything you are
And all the skeletons you hide
For now they are locked away
And I am still outside
