Forced to love me

Chapter 3.

We arrived at the hospital, and he parked in front of it as we both came out and walked in. We both made our way to her room when he was stopped by the doctor.

How's my mom doing, he asked as he sighted the doctor. They both left to stand far away from me

For now, she's fine but we need to do the operation as quickly as possible, it's spreading.

I could see his worried face as he discussed it with the doctor, I didn't know what it was all about.
He walked up to me after speaking to the doctor.

We can go in to see my mom, he said as he took a step to leave.

I stopped him, you don't look fine I asked, what's the problem?

It's nothing, he faked a smile.

I want to help and I can't do that if you're hiding things from me.

Fine, I'll tell you. My mom needs to undergo chemotherapy, she has been battling cancer but I don't have any money for it that's why I took up this bodyguard job because the pay was buoyant.

I'll pay for it, I said bluntly.

You don't have to

I want to, that's the least I can do as a friend.

Thank you,  he said and hugged me, I could feel my heart leap for joy.

Come let me introduce my Mom to you, he said held my hand, and took me into the room.
Inside we meet his mom, lying on the bed, she looks so pale.

Mom, he called her as we got closer.

My son, you're here, she said as she tried to stand up.

He rushes to hold her hand to assist her.

Who is this young lady with you, she asked as she saw me.

My boss, he replied.

Nice to meet you, she said as she signaled me to come closer.
I've never had a mother figure in my life, my mother died after giving birth to me, and dad had to raise me alone, so I don't know how motherly love feels like.

I went closer to her, nice to meet you two.

I'm sure my son isn't giving much trouble.

No, he's doing his job well

Glad to hear that, I'm kind of tired I need to lie down, she signals her son for assistance, and he helps her lie down.

I'll come visit you tomorrow, he said and kiss her goodbye

Make sure you come along with the pretty lady beside you.

I couldn't help myself from blushing as his mother complimented my beauty.

Okay Mom, anything for you, I'll be going now.

Bye son,  she said as we left the room.

We went outside the house, we entered the car as he drove off. The ride was silent as he stopped in front of my house, he came out to open the back door for me to come out.

Sorry for the whole stress, he apologized as I made my way out of the car.

It's fine, I said and walked into the house with him behind me.

Where's my dad, I asked one of the maids that came to welcome me.

He left today with some of his belongings

Okay, I said and walked straight to my room, what a long day I said and shut my door behind me.
I took off my clothes and walked into the bathroom, walked out minutes later after showering. I changed into my pajamas fell on the bed and dozed off.
