poppy renee jenkins ;
it wasn't just one guy i was hooking up with now, and it wasn't just one cigarette i smoked a day. i hooked up with at least four guys this week and have already used 3 packs of cigarettes. i took off work for two weeks, but i got a call from mrs. hood asking me to come visit her and mali. she was out of the hospital and now home so i decided to come over real quick, hopefully calum doesn't find out i visited.
"i've missed you!" mali smiles, giving me a quick hug letting her hands linger on my shoulders.
"how are you feeling?" i ask, feeling slightly obligated to as a nurse and a friend.
i never really knew what mali had, i just brought the medications into her room while she slept.
"so much better!" mali smiles, i finally get to see her with her make up on and hair done in gorgeous beach waves.
these are the moments i strive for. seeing people thrive after being in the dark.
"hey, mali." mrs. hood walks into the room, calling. she smiles telling me "hello! it's nice to see you again." and then she continues talking to mali. "calum and violet are on their way over so you girls can stay out here or go to your room after your brother gets here but i at least want you yo say hi to vi, please."
"oh, i was just swinging by. i have to leave soon so i'll try and be gone before your brother and his girlfriend get here." i smile shyly.
i really wasn't lying about leaving soon. my old friend luke is in town and he's one of the three other guys i had been sleeping with, none of which i find to be as good as calum but i'll settle for what i can get.
i hear a knock on the door and then i see calum and a girl follow him. her hair, nearly jet black and she has gorgeous emerald orbs but the palest skin. her and calum look so awkward together.
"oh, hey guys! i just invited miss jenkins, or poppy is it? over to just chat." mali smiles. "poppy, i'm sure you've already met calum and this is his girlfriend violet. violet, this is poppy, she was my nurse when i was severely ill in the hospital."
violet extends a hand smiling and as i'm about to shake her hand, excepting, calum butts in between us.
"i'm sure miss jenkins is busy and needs to be some where." calum retorts towards me, smirking.
it takes everything i have in me not to flip out and kick his ass.
"no, i'm gonna stay and hang out with mali." i smile innocently and grab violets hand, shaking it.
