Recap:

"Jon, everyone in this room knows about your dad. Jonathan meet John Henry Irons."

"It's nice to meet you, I'd shake you hand but it's bloody." I greet shyly. He just chuckles at me giving me a comforting smile.

"It's alright kid. Your parents have told me a lot about you. Do you mind if I patch up your hand?" He asked me softly. I just nodded before we all moved into the kitchen. Grandpa pulls me into a hug first before hugging everyone. Mr. Irons starts to clean my cut while Dad explains to Grandpa what happened.

"At least it's over no-" A loud sound interrupts Jordan. We all run outside and see A bright beam of light shooting up to the sky.

"What the hell is that...." Grandpa says.

"Stay with your mom boys!" Dad yells before leaving.

Clark's POV:

As Superman, there have been very few days in my life, where I have been at a loss on what to do. As Clark Kent.. now that's a different story. As a father and husband there has never been a day where I knew what I was doing. And in the 18 years I have been married, and the 15 years I've been a father I have done nothing but try my best to protect them and be there for them. The scariest things I've ever had to deal with, I did it as Clark Kent. And once again I'm at a loss on what to do now.

2 Months Earlier

(Nobody's POV)

A bright beam of light shoots through the sky only a few miles away from Smallville. A loud explosion can be heard from the whole town. Clark immediately flies towards the explosion after assuring his family to stay safe. When he gets there the light is gone but all he can see is the large indent in the ground. He looks around looking for something to make sense of but there is nothing or nobody around him. He fly's up towards the sky to try to get a better picture but nothing can explain it. After spending an hour searching around the world for anything abnormal he decides to go home.

Lois's POV

"What No! Why can't we go help dad?!" Jordan asks for the third time.

"Jordan you guys are still weak from the kryptonite poisoning and your father will be okay I promise you. Plus your grandpa is in the barn with John and there talking to your father through the DOD's equipment." I try to reassure him.

"What if he needs help? He's been gone for almost an hour!"

"Jordan enough! I know you're worried about your father but he has faced much worse and I promise you he will be okay. How about you check up on Jonathan? He must be feeling horrible physically and mentally after today's events." Jordan thinks about what I said before he nods and makes his way to the boys upstairs. After the boys are settled I make my way outside to the barn to talk to my father and John.

"So what's going on? Have you guys figured out what happened?"

"Well I checked in with the DOD and they said there was no suspicious activity from surrounding recordings, but it happened in the middle of nowhere so our security is limited." Dad stressed.

"I haven't had much luck either, everything from my sensors and nearby satellites have come back with nothing. Once Clark comes back I'll take my suit and see if I can get some samples." I can't help but let out a sound of frustration.

"Hey, we'll figure it out. Don't worry about it, pumpkin."

"I've always hated that nickname." he just grins at me in return.
