Chapter One

I just finished my breakfast when my phone started ringing. I picked it up and read "Reiss🦋". I sighed it was 7:30 in the morning and I knew he was just calling me because I tolerated his early morning rubbish talks unlike anyone else. I accepted the call grinning a bit, because I secretly enjoyed his calls. Even though I'll never tell him that. "Yo Jadon!" He shouted. "Good morning." I said. "I can't wait for you to get here, I haven't seen you in like a year or something." I rolled my eyes cos I just saw him last month. "A month is bare long yeah." "Yeah, too long. I'm happy you're gonna be back." We spoke on the phone everyday and everyday it was the same thing. At this point I was not excited to see him anymore. "Yeah, I'm only excited to see my family and friends. You're too dramatic." "Wow, that's not very nice of you. I'm just happy to see you in real life again." "Yeah, to admire my beauty in real life." I could hear him kissing his teeth as he rolled his eyes. We continued talking for an hour, until he had to leave and I decided to pack my bags for tomorrow's flight. I liked Germany but the UK is where I belong. As I packed my bags I started thinking about Tanesha. I didn't forget Reiss's comment about her. "Tanesha's back you know? She's looking for a job, shes temporarily living in a hotel in London. You should call her again. You used to be bare close." Tanesha is my best friend. Well she used to be, we just kinda stopped talking when she went back to Brazil and I felt like I was bothering her, every time I called. I still check her Snap stories and I made an account to see her TikTok videos. She makes videos with her younger cousins. Even though she can't dance. Like she's got no rhythm. But she always hung out with the younger kids, she thinks it's important to be a good role model. And she really loves children. She also always wanted to be a mother. That's the only thing she'd always been certain about. I started laughing thinking about it. One of the most indecisive people I know. Always switching and changing her mind about things. She never switches on anyone tho. I could always rely on her, one of the most trustworthy people I know. I wondered if I was gonna see her again. I knew she was close to Paige, Raheem's girlfriend. Raheem and I are cool. I decided to text Raheem. I know he'll probably tell Paige they're both really nosy. But I don't care.

Jadon: Yo, you alright? Do yk if Paige still talks to T? Just nosy.
It didn't even take him a minute to react. Of course a bit on the dry side. But I won't complain.
Raheem: Yh, why?
Jadon: Just nosy
Raheem: Planning on reaching out?
Jadon: Maybe
Raheem: She's in London yk
Jadon: Yh i know, Reiss just told me. Hope she's well
Raheem: She is. She came to Manchester last week. Just left. She might be moving in. She needs a job. She was thinking of going back if she can't find one. Paige convinced her to stay.
Jadon: That's great! Hope she'll find a job soon.
Raheem: Me too. Text her. You've got her number.
Jadon: I'll think about it.
Raheem: Just do it, good luck bro
Jadon: Yh, thanks. I'll see you soon
Raheem: Save flight ❤️
Jadon: Thank you 🙏🏽
