Taeyong walked into the older boys' room, worried when neither of them woke up. Usually they did wake up when he came in but they were dead asleep this time.
"Junnie, can you sit up for me?" Taeyong sat down on the younger's bed. Renjun mumbled something and slowly opened his eyes, sitting up and immediately starting to cough.
"Oh honey, your burning up" Taeyong felt the kid's forehead and Renjun was indeed very clearly running a fever.
"It hurts" Renjun whined, wrapping an arm around his stomach. Mark slowly started to stir and Taeyong turned to the older's bed; Mark looked no better than his roommate.
"Stay in bed today loves. Hyung will take care of you" Taeyong brushed the hair out of Renjun's eyes before getting up and leaving. He went to check on the others to make sure they weren't sick. Normally when one of the boys was sick, the others were not far behind. Just as he thought, Chenle was burning up and had kicked his covers off. Taeyong quickly covered him back up and felt Jisung's forehead. That was four sick kids and three healthy ones who would probably be sick in a day or two if Taeyong was lucky. If he wasn't lucky, all seven would be sick by the end of the day.
"Why don't we go down to the living room?" Taeyong picked up the two maknaes and carried them downstairs, settling them down on the couch. As soon as Chenle and Jisung were laying down again, they were asleep and cuddled up next to each other.
"Why are they all sitting?" Jeno pointed to his brothers, Haechan and Jaemin standing behind him. All three were ready to go to school but Taeyong didn't know if he could take them. He didn't want to leave Mark, Renjun and the maknaes alone.
"Their sick. I don't think I can take you to school today boys" Taeyong said apologetically.
"Ooh! Get me sick hyung!" Haechan ran to the oldest two and flopped down on top of them. Renjun held his stomach again, groaning as he tried not to let out the dinner from the night before. Taeyong walked over and pulled Haechan off, giving him a stern swat.
"Do not go bothering your brothers. You'll contact all your teachers and find alternate ways to do the work assigned today. If I catch even one of you bothering those four, I will spank you. I do not need one of you getting sick and your brothers need rest. Is that clear?" Taeyong warned. All three middle boys looked really happy at not having to go to school and they ran off to get changed back into more comfortable clothes before talking to their teachers.
Taeyong made some soup and dished out four bowls of it, setting three down on the coffee table.
"Renjun, take this. Mark, here" Taeyong handed two bowls to the oldest boys, who took it and smiled at the warmth in their hands from the hot bowl.
"Lele, Ji, I need you both to wake up for me" Taeyong gently set the youngest two up into a sitting position so they could eat. He ended up feeding the soup to them since Jisung was too little and too tired to handle a spoon himself and Chenle was falling asleep over his bowl. Jeno noticed Taeyong struggling from his spot on the floor and walked over, taking over on feeding Jisung.
"Thank you Jeno" Taeyong finished Chenle's bowl, setting it to the side and helping the kid lay back down so he could sleep. Mark was curled up on side of the other couch, fighting sleep. Renjun was slightly sprawled out on the opposite side, his eyes closed and his chest rising and falling rhythmically as he slept. Haechan and Jaemin were playing a game against each other on their papers, not even bothering with their schoolwork. Taeyong walked over to them, flicking them lightly on the head.
"The sooner you finish your work, the quicker you can go play" He reminded them and that was enough to get the middle kids to focus on their work again. Taeyong went and put the soup away, he would get out again later for dinner. Either way even with them focusing and working hard, Jeno was the first one to finish and he had been busy helping Taeyong care for his brothers.
Day one ended quickly. Taeyong slept on the couch, not wanting to move Mark or Renjun, both of which had fallen asleep. Chenle and Jisung went to their own room but Taeyong had a suspicion that either Haechan or Jaemin had snuck the maknaes into their room and he was going to go up the next day to find four kids in the two beds.
He was right. After checking on the oldest two, Taeyong went to the younger kids' room and found Chenle asleep under Jaemin's arm and Jisung laying on top of Haechan.
"Minnie, Channie, wake up" Taeyong picked the youngest two up, Jisung clinging to him. Chenle woke up for a moment but once he realized that it was Taeyong holding him, he closed his eyes and went back to sleep.
"It's too bright" Haechan complained. Taeyong felt time stop. This could not be happening. Haechan's voice was really hoarse and raspy, he was sick. Jaemin was still asleep but in his sleep, he curled into a ball and shivered, pulling the covers further up around him. Taeyong hesitantly felt their foreheads for a temperature but he really didn't need to. He knew already. Haechan and Jaemin had gotten sick from Chenle and Jisung.
"Come on, downstairs and onto the couch" Taeyong took the youngest two and carried them back to the living room, Jaemin and Haechan following closely. They climbed onto the larger couch and sat there, pouting.
"I told you what would happen if you went near your brothers. Now you got sick because you didn't listen to me" Taeyong reminded them. Haechan crossed his arms, looking upset so Jaemin copied him. Taeyong only shook his head, looking at them fondly and went to get Jeno up. Big surprise, the man now had seven sick kids to care for.
"Your not going to spank us are you?" Haechan wondered, looking more worried when Taeyong came downstairs and set Jeno down with the older two. That put three on the smaller couch and four on the bigger one.
"No, I'm not. I think being sick is punishment enough" Taeyong had thought about it and he really didn't believe in punishing the boys when they were sick unless they absolutely needed it. Like Jisung did a few hours later.
"Jisung, you need to take your medicine. I will not say it again" Taeyong huffed, getting annoyed. He had managed to get all the boys to take their medicine, some with more trouble than others, but Jisung seemed adamant that he was going to get better on his own without the help of the medicine. Taeyong knew that it would speed up the process for Jisung to do what he was told but the three year old did not seem to share this little thought.
"I don't want it! Gross" Jisung crossed his arms, yelling as loudly as he could so the whole world knew of his displeasure. Taeyong noticed a few of the others whine and mumble something at Jisung's loud voice.
"Park Jisung! I am not going to say it again. Lower your voice, sit down and stop standing on the couch, and take your medicine. You are on thin ice little boy. I do not think you want to test me right now" Taeyong's patience was clearly running thin but Jisung either didn't notice this or didn't care.
"No!" He smacked the spoon out of Taeyong's hand. That was enough for the man and he picked the toddler up, taking him to the kitchen. He grabbed the small stool that some of the shorter boys used to help him cook when they wanted and set it in the corner.
"You do not! SMACK Throw or hit SMACK when you are upset SMACK" Taeyong peppered the boy's bottom with soft spanks and set him on the stool, setting a timer for three minutes. He poured out another cup of medicine and waited for his phone to signal that time was up. After those three minutes, Taeyong turned Jisung to face him, wiping away the few tears in the toddler's eyes.
"I'm sorry hyung! It's just gross" Jisung clung to Taeyong, sobbing into the man's shirt and staining it. Not that Taeyong minded; he'd had many shirts ruined by tears and other bodily fluids over the past couple of months.
"I know it is. I never liked medicine either but it helps you get better faster, okay? That's why I need you to take it. If you be a good boy and take it, I'll let you pick out a movie for you and your brothers to watch. Does that sound good?" Taeyong knew that was bribing but he didn't care. He wasn't above a little bribery when it was really necessary. Jisung looked excited and nodded, taking his medicine without anymore fuss even if he did wrinkle his nose as it went down his throat. Taeyong carried him to the living room, placing the youngest next to Chenle, who wrapped his arms around his only baby brother and gave Taeyong a dirty look.
