Chenle wrapped his arms protectively around his backpack as he climbed out the window. Jisung climbed out after him, carefully shutting the window so their room didn't get cold.
"Come on! We're going to be late" Chenle urged his younger brother to move faster. Jisung ran after him, trying to go faster so Chenle didn't think of leaving him behind. A few hours later, they barely even remembered climbing out the window or anything that happened after that.
"Come on, Ji. Let's go home" Chenle took his brother's hand and they started walking home. Neither one of them even thought that going through the front door was a bad idea because they were definitely going to get caught then. Surprisingly though, that didn't happen until the next morning.
"Morning family!" Jaemin and Haechan came down, looking well rested. Jaemin had Ha-Yun on his back and set her down in her seat before taking his seat as well. Chenle and Jisung were a sharp contrast to how their older brothers looked that morning. Jeno came down as well. He was visiting from college so he was staying there for a bit.
"Did you boys not sleep well last night?" Lola looked at the younger two, worried. Chenle turned his head a little, wincing at the sharp pain that pierced his head.
"Yeah, we slept fine. Why?" He nodded slowly to not make his headache worse. Taeyong came in at that moment, grabbing Jeno's arm and pulling him out of the room.
"I wouldn't do that! You have to believe me" Jeno's voice carried back into the kitchen where the others were. Chenle and Jisung looked at each other, having a good idea what Taeyong and Jeno were talking about. It had been quite convenient for them that Jeno was back because he was nineteen and he was old enough to buy alcohol. So they took his card and bought some though they might have bought too much.
"What is going on?" Taeyong and Jeno walked back in.
"Which of you took Jeno's card?" Taeyong looked at the younger four boys. Jaemin and Haechan looked back at him, confused.
"Why would we do that? We have our own" Haechan pointed out.
"Because Jeno is the only one here that is old enough to buy alcohol so using his card wouldn't raise any suspicions since he's nineteen. Now someone better confess before your all in trouble" Taeyong answered. Jaemin and Haechan still looked confused but they had figured out that their younger brothers had done something.
"We didn't do anything. The two of us were in my room all of last night" Jaemin insisted. Taeyong wanted to believe him but something wasn't adding up.
"That's not true! We went to the store last night, remember? But we only got snacks, look I can show you!" Haechan got up, getting the bag of snacks that him and Jaemin had bought the night before.
"Okay yeah but besides that, we were here the entire time" Jaemin rolled his eyes. He was trying to keep them out of trouble but Haechan was not helping.
"I know who did it!" Ha-Yun squealed, tuning into the conversation. Jisung and Chenle looked at her. There was no way their sister could actually know they snuck out but there was the chance that she could and they just hadn't noticed the night before.
"Who was it?" Lola wondered. Ha-Yun pointed to Chenle and Jisung without hesitation.
"They climbed out the window!" Ha-Yun tattled. Jisung put his head on the table, banging his head a few times. Chenle just closed his eyes, blocking out the rest of the family.
"You and you, upstairs now" Taeyong snapped his fingers, pointing at his youngest two sons and then to the stairs. Chenle and Jisung got up, running off to their room before they made things worse.
"My head feels like it's going to explode" Chenle groaned, flopping down on his bed.
"Sucks for you" Jisung shrugged even though he wasn't feeling much better than his closest brother. Chenle hit him in the head with the pillow. Taeyong walked in and the two boys stopped messing around, sitting straight up on their beds.
"I am very disappointed in both of you but I am going to take into consideration that you are both hungover right now and that is punishment enough, for now" Taeyong decided.
"Your giving us a break?" Jisung was shocked. Taeyong rarely gave breaks.
"Yes. Until you feel better and then your both getting the belt. Have fun and get some rest. We'll talk later" Taeyong turned and left, having said his piece. Jisung and Chenle were more miserable now, desperately waiting for the time when they would feel better and could get rid of the crushing guilt that they felt.
That moment came the next day and when Taeyong walked into their room with the belt in hand, neither Chenle or Jisung fought him and took their punishment willingly. It stung but they felt better afterwards, at least emotionally.
"You boys did so good and I am proud of you for how you took that" Taeyong hugged them.
"There's just one more thing. I don't want you seeing those friends of yours anymore" Taeyong decided, making up his mind. He was not going to back off on this.
"They weren't really our friends anyways but no problem. We won't see them again" Chenle agreed and Jisung nodded along, a little dismayed but he understood.
"Thank you. Now come help me make lunch" Taeyong didn't leave the maknaes a choice so they went downstairs and helped him make dinner. It was noticeable that they had trouble sitting at lunch and dinner and Jaemin and Haechan made fun of them for it until Taeyong scolded the older boys and threatened them with a few licks of the belt too if they didn't stop and leave Chenle and Jisung alone.
