The mission was clear – make Louis's 19th birthday the best of his life. My life, which might seem uneventful, had a secret weapon: my knack for throwing unforgettable parties. With Millie by my side, we wasted no time upon returning to her house after my "departure." We had secured an Airbnb, isolated and party-ready, under the guise of a family reunion.
His birthday celebration involved meticulous planning. My family, his old school friends, and new acting buddies all joined in. Even my siblings flew in for the occasion. His parents were surprisingly in on the plot, suggesting we throw a big party. The catch – Louis couldn't know a thing.
To maintain the ruse, I turned off my location and sent him an old photo with a cover story about a glitchy app. The countdown to his birthday began with Millie and Issie keeping him occupied, and everyone gathered to set up the surprise the next day. Millie and Issie took Louis out for a family dinner, diverting his attention from his phone.

As the big day approached, the nerves kicked in. Millie texted, "Pulling in now," signaling the imminent arrival of the birthday boy. We dimmed the lights, and the door creaked open to reveal a blindfolded Louis, guided by Millie and Issie. We erupted into a chorus of "Happy Birthday" as I approached him with a cake. The moment he ripped off the blindfold, his expression morphed from shock to pure joy.
"Make a wish," I teased. After blowing out the candles, he called me a "naughty little liar" before embracing me tightly. When asked about his wish, he echoed mine from my 17th birthday – for everything to stay exactly as it is, a testament to our shared connection.
The celebration surged into a night of music, revelry, and camaraderie. We indulged in a festive atmosphere, sharing laughter and love for someone we all cherished. In the hazy aftermath, I awoke next to a slumbering Louis, surrounded by friends asleep throughout the house.
Cleaning up the aftermath, we headed back to Louis's house, and the questions started pouring in. Louis, curious and slightly bewildered, sought answers about my stealthy stay. I recounted the elaborate plan, and the conversation ended with his heartfelt gratitude and an affirmation of love.
Eventually, I had to return home, and this time, it was my turn to shed tears. Louis's parents, unexpectedly, insisted on driving me to the airport. The routine played out – the drop-off, the goodbyes, and as I started walking away, Louis followed. "You don't have to walk me in; I've done this a dozen times," I chuckled. With a mischievous glint in his eye, he retorted, "Well, we have a flight to catch, don't we?"
