Dinner was eaten in a small pavilion in the backyard. Yan Ze and Ying Bi arrived late. When they met Yan Cheng's probing gaze, Ying Bi subconsciously avoided it and stood behind Yan Ze.
"This is a meal for everyone. Donors, please use it with care."
The young monk brought the vegetarian meal to the wooden table in the small pavilion, and specially placed a cup of tea brewed by Bodhi in the hands of Song Jinshu and Yan Chi.
He saluted and prepared to leave, but was stopped by Yan Cheng from behind.
"What's the donor's order?"
Yan Cheng pointed at a small wooden house hidden behind the woods. There were hanging green vines hanging from the eaves, and moss covered the entire wall along the supporting pillars. It looked very peaceful.
"What's that cabin for?"
The little monk looked in the direction pointed by Yan Cheng's finger and saw a wooden house surrounded by green vines and moss, and could vaguely see rabbits running in the grass.
"It was for hunters who entered Fuxi Mountain for hunting. The road down the mountain at night was difficult, so the abbot built a wooden house specially for them."
"Oh." Yan Cheng nodded lightly and stared at the cabin thoughtfully for a long time before turning his head and looking at Song Jinshu with a smile in his eyes.
Song Jinshu was frightened by his look. He lowered his head and took a sip of tea, then heard Yan Cheng chuckle beside him.
No words are spoken.
The meal was finished quickly. Yan Ze didn't know what terrible thing was hidden in the room. Before Yan Cheng could say anything, he quickly put down the bowl and chopsticks and ran back to the room.
Yingbi was so nervous that her palms became sweaty, and her nails dug into the soft flesh of her palms. She turned around to follow Yan Ze, but was stopped by Yan Cheng from behind.
"Yingbi."
She turned her head blankly. Yan Cheng hadn't called her that for a long time.
"What orders does the second master have?"
Seeing the hope rising in her eyes, Yan Cheng frowned in displeasure and thoughtfully poured another cup of tea for Song Jinshu.
"Keep an eye on Yan Ze and don't let him run around. I have no interest in looking for him."
The light in Yingbi's eyes disappeared in an instant. She lowered her head and nodded with an obedient look.
——
Yan Chi felt sleepy after dinner. He rubbed his sore lower back and walked to the monk's room. Song Jinshu wanted to follow him, but Yan Cheng held his hand.
"I, I'll accompany, brother."
Yan Cheng's face turned visibly stinky. He looked at Yan Chi complaining like a child who couldn't get candied hawthorns. He even complained to Yan Chi: "Brother, look, what did you do to Jin Shu?" The method of seducing the soul is inseparable from you, and I will stay alone in the empty room tonight."
Song Jinshu was a thin-skinned man, and his face turned red from the tips of his ears to the base of his neck after being teased like this by Yan Cheng.
Yan Chi, who was complained by Yan Cheng for no reason, smiled helplessly. The last rays of the sunset also hid in the valley, and a layer of orange gauze was draped on Yan Chi's shoulders.
