ch 6
Akira sat at her mothers grave in the rain. She didn't bother putting up her umbrella and let herself get soaked.
“Yamada, Why are you here?” A familiar voice came from behind her. Akira was surprised to hear and see Eijiro Kirishima standing in front of her.
“This is my mothers grave,” Akira answered softly. “Why are you here? Especially today.” She noticed the white roses in his hand. “You? You bring the white roses every year?”
“Your mother?” Kirishima said sadly. “So it was you that day with me.” He walked over and kneeled down to set the roses down and pay his respects. “I was the other kid there that day. She saved my life when she lost hers. Your mother is the person who first inspired me to be a hero.”
“I never knew,” Akira said. “Everything was so fast and all a big blur that I never got your or your family’s name.” Akira had turned back to the grave and kept staring at it. She was afraid of how he might be looking at her after she was outed.
“Yamada,” Kirshima said softly. “Why haven't you been in class?” Akira hugged her knees to her chest. “Why are you sitting out here soaked to the bone?” He asked just realizing the state she was in. He took off his raincoat and put it around her shoulders.
“Why are you giving me your jacket?” Akira asked, surprised.
“ Cuz men should always give up their coat for a woman,” Kirishima said with a grin.
“But you know the truth,” Akira said softly. She felt Kirishima give her shoulders a gentle and reassuring squeeze.
“And? I still see you as a girl because that's what you are,” Kirishima said. “It wouldn't be manly to deny someone so brave that right.” Akira's shoulders shook slightly as she cried softly. She had expected to be hated or bullied because she was transgender.
“Thank you Kirishima.” Akira cried softly.
“Come on,” Kirishima said. “My moms are in the car out front. Lets get you warmed up.” He helped her up and walked her to the car.

Akira stood staring at the classroom door gripping the straps of her backpack until her knuckles turned white.
“Dont worry Akira.” Aizawa said beside her. “I will expel anyone who gives you a hard time.” Akira nodded slowly and opened the door.“Akira!” Some of the class yelled out.
“You're back!” Midoirya said happily. Kirishima was grinning from his seat. He had been able to convince her to come back to class.
“Yamada!” Iida called. “I know that boy was your cousin but he was incredibly rude and insensitive.” Akira flinched at bringing that up. “But be assured, his words change nothing.” Akira once again looked surprised. “You will always be Akira to us all.”
“Yea!” Kaminari said. “Cant believe a dude became such an attractive chick” Jiro slapped him in the back of the head. Akira couldn't help but chuckle.
“You're not helping,” Jiro told Kaminari.
“Yamada,” Iida said. “You missed two whole days of class. I have extras of all the notes and work that you missed so you do not fall behind!” Akira rolled her eyes but smiled.
“Thank you everyone,” Akira said as she walked towards her seat. She glanced at Bakugou who was just looking at her. “Got something to say?” She asked expecting the worst.
“I don't care what is or isn't in your pants.” Bakugou said. “But when we fight in the sports festival you better bring your all. That's all that matters to me.” Akira actually smiled at that.
“You got it Matchstick.” Akira said with a smirk. “Ill be sure to kick your ass.”

Her classmates may have accepted who she was, but it was obvious to Akira as she walked the halls towards the lunch room that not everyone in school did. She could hear people chattering and whispering as she walked by.
“Disrespectful.” Iida said as he came up beside Akira. “Do not mind any of them Yamada.”
“Thanks Iida,” Akira said softly. It still hurt though. She could hear some of the words being thrown around about her and some made her flinch; pervert, monster, tranny, freak, and many more. She got her lunch tray and sat in her usual spot and soon her friends joined her. She stared at her food and just moved it around her plate with her chopsticks.
“Yamada?” Midoirya said softly. “Are you ok?”
“I'm used to it guys,” Akira said quietly. “Not the first time Ive been outed. Its how I ended up transferring to Somei. Only that time I had no friends at all by my side. Everyone turned on me and they knew me so much longer than you guys have.”
“I'm sorry you experienced that Yamada.” Uraraka said.
“Akira,” Akira said, looking up at them. “Please, will you guys call me Akira. You guys are the first to really accept me beyond my uncle and Aizawa.”
“Aizawa knew, ribbit?” Tsuyu asked.
“He has known since I was younger,” Akira said. “My uncle and Aizawa went to school together and remained friends so I've known him all my life.” Akira smiled softly. “Ive met a few other Pros too. Like Ingenium.”
“My brother?” Iida asked, surprised. Akira nodded.
“Ive met him a couple times,” Akira smiled. “Going to hero events and stuff with my uncle. Ive met one of our classmates before too. Todoroki.”
“Its so cool to grow up with a hero,” Midoirya said.
“It has its ups and downs,” Akira smiled. “Are you guys excited for the sports festival?” They all nodded. “Let's all do our best. I'll show people that I will become a hero no matter what obstacles stand in my way.”
