I kiss Penelope, "Wake up, sweetheart."

Penelope's hand reaches up and bats my face away, "I'm sleeping."

I put the toast on the bedside table, along with a glass of juice with medicine to help with the hangover.

"I made you breakfast. I have to go to work." I brush the hair of her face.

"Hmmmm." She peaks her eyes open, "Thank you, baby."

I smile at the nickname, "You'll come see me later?"

"Mhmmmm."

"Call if you need anything." I kiss her again before leaving.

I don't want to go to work. I'd rather stay and look after Penelope, but i've been called in for a stupid asshole.

I slam my car door closed as i see one boy waiting for me.

"What the fuck, do you want?" I stare at Penelope's dad.

"Where's Penelope?"

"Fuck off," I walk up to him, "No one wants to see you."

"I'm here to take her home."

"She's already at home." I grit.

I stare at him as his face is still covered in bruises that i gave him.

"She's my daughter."

"You don't deserve her as a fucking daughter."

He goes to throw a punch at me, i grab his hand and twist it and i hear a bone snap.

"Parker, woah." My friends run up behind me as they arrive.

"You fucking bastard." Penelope's dad screams.

I pin him against the closed roller doors and look at my friends, "Call the fucking cops, he's going to jail."

They nod.

"You can't do that." He sneers.

"I can do whatever the fuck i want you fucking dick."

I'm so done with the bullshit.

I need to know he is gone forever and that he won't hurt Penelope anymore.

I hear police sirens that snap me out of thought.

They come over and i begin to explain to them what he did to my girl. How he hurt her.

They cuff him, and he's gone.

I raise the roller doors and try to storm to my office but my friends question.

"How did you know he was here?"

"He messaged Penelope." I push through the back and into my office.

I try to calm myself but it doesn't work. I spend most of the morning in my office waiting for Penelope.
