Chapter 8: Green Day and Material Girl

The next day.

Persephone and Nao wake up in an apartment. Persephone wakes up on a sofa and Nao walks into the same room rubbing her eyes.

Nao: Morning. Yawn. How did you sleep?

Persephone: Good thanks.

Persephone looks at Nao and sees that she's wearing Hello Kitty pyjamas.

Persephone: PFFT! HAHAHAHAHA!

Nao: What's so funny?

Persephone: HELLO KITTY?! HAHAHA! THAT SHIT'S FOR BABIES!

Nao: I LIKE IT OKAY!? IT'S CUTE! BETTER THAN WHAT YOU'RE WEARING! YOU'RE IN JUST A BRA AND YOUR UNDERWEAR!

Persephone: THAT'S BECAUSE I GOT NOTHING ELSE TO SLEEP IN! IT'S YOUR APARTMENT AFTER ALL! HOW THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN STILL IN HERE!?

Nao: My landlord is black so he halted my rent because of what happened to me.

Persephone: How does that even happen?

Nao: Luck I suppose. Still a mystery to me.

Persephone: We'rent you also charged with as-

Nao: SHH! He doesn't know that!

Persephone: Shit. Sorry.

Nao: It's chill. So. Before we get started with the day-

Persephone: Wait. What time is it?

Nao: 8:15 why?

Persephone: Why the hell did you wake me up so early?!

Persephone falls back to sleep. Nao removes the duvet off of Persephone.

Persephone: OI!

Nao: You need to get up!

Persephone: And why is that?!

Nao: You live in my apartment, you live by my rules. So come on. Get up and get changed.

Persephone: My clothes are-

Persephone looks to her left and sees her clothes folded neatly on the floor.

Nao: I cleaned them last night.

Persephone: But... You fell asleep before me!

Nao: Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and I can't get back to sleep until I complete a task or two. So I decided to clean your clothes and I was able to sleep like a baby.

Persephone looks at Nao confused.

Persephone: How the hell does that work?

Nao: I think it's kind of like a satisfaction thing.

Persephone: I guess that makes sense.

Nao: Anyways, I need to get ready. Get changed and we'll go out and get something to eat.

Nao walks to her room. Persephone gets up and stretches.

Persephone: I'm a fucking wreck. Being in prison didn't really change much about me.

She grabs her clothes and gets changed. She's wearing the same thing she wore yesterday. Nao walks back into the room wearing black leggings, a white crop top and the same hat as yesterday.

Nao: Come on. We're going out.

Persephone: Why?

Nao: What do you mean why? You just wanna stay in all day?
