After both Arjun and Subhadra accepted the decision of elders for their lives the air of Dwarka was loaded with immense joy. Necessary tasks were wrapped up in short to give full attention to the auspicious ceremony of marriage of princess with her prince charming.
The tasks related marriage had been started. Decorations were started on the first day when Arjun and Subhadra said yes for their marriage. Choosing dresses and jewelleries was the most tough task which had its session each day. Royal ladies were taking their own time to chose the best for Subhadra.
After all it was her marriage whose colour was fair like her elder brother Balram and charm was no less than Kanha in attracting anyone.
Amidst the preparations of marriage Subhadra was enjoying everyone's attention.
Kunti and her family was also staying in Dwarka so that no gap could be there in happiness of would be bride and groom due to distance.
While enjoying the ambiance of Dwarka Subhadra was missing Mayapuri and her foster parents. They were also invited for her marriage, but she was hardly expecting them. The reason was closeness of demons and humans was never appreciated by Trishika.
According to Subhadra the dispute in between humans and demons was a misunderstanding due to interference of divine entities into the issues of humans and Demons. Trishika had blamed Lord Vishnu for that, especially. Subhadra being misguided by Trishika had assumed her words as the truth.
The brighter side was Subhadra had accepted that her foster parents wouldn't come in her marriage, and no portion of her heart was acquired by the grief of the obvious.
It was a day before her marriage. Her sisters in law who were always around her teasing, pampering and caring about her had left her alone in chamber to sleep. One of them could have stayed with her, but that could have ended up chatting with all the night depriving her of sleep.
Subhadra was sitting in her balcony enjoying the shiver of dark cold night. Suddenly she heard sounds of some activities at her back.
"You are still awake! Looks like you are taking advantage of the chance you are spared for sleeping well tonight," Subhadra smiled at a cautious Arjun who pulled himself up into balcony over the railing.
"You are also taking advantage of the same chance," he walked near her, smilingly.
"I wasn't feeling sleepy. So, I thought to sit here. Taking advantage means any kind of wrong activity, and I am not doing anything wrong," she justified her action.
"Am I really doing anything wrong?" He flashed an innocent look as he loved her response on that look, specifically.
"You have already done, but you are forgiven for this innocent mistake from my side," his innocent look melted her to say so.
"What made you define this an innocent mistake?" He asked.
"I have defined this as an innocent mistake, because you are talking with me only at this late hour, that too decently. You haven't done anything mischievous to be punished," she was always frank with him to act mischievous, sometimes.
"The idea of mischief somehow crossed across my mind, but I dropped that. I would prefer to be punished by you, conveniently after marriage," he also didn't miss the chance of gesturing mischief from his side.
Before they could converse anymore Kanha and Balram sneaked into the balcony, and Arjun was caught at their first glance.
"Parth, what are you doing here?" Kanha walked near Arjun and Subhadra led by Balram at front.
"Kanha, you aren't too innocent to ask this question. Arjun, go back to your chamber and sleep," the question asked by Kanha was a bit embarrassing for Balram. So, he ordered Arjun to go back, simply.
"Sure, Dau. By the way why did you both come here secretly?" The way brothers sneaked into the balcony can make anyone curious.
"Checking squad is alert. So, we both came here secretly to avoid unnecessary interrogation. Reach your chamber safely before anyone of squad finds about you," Arjun got the hint of checking squad mentioned by Balram. Being caught by brothers and sisters in law was really troublesome for Arjun. So, nodding at Balram, Arjun left from there.
Kanha and Balram led Subhadra inside her chamber. Making her lay on bed they tried to make her sleep. Balram was caressing her hairs while Kanha was talking nonstop about here and there. Balram also used to join Kanha, occasionally.
"Are you still upset with us for those years in which Devika and her sisters gained affection from us, in your absence?" Kanha whispered to a drowsy Subhadra despite Balram's warning glare.
"I will be upset with you both about this for forever," though she was sleepy yet conscious to deal with Kanha's tricks.
"Our bonding is at a nice pace yet she's ready to forget about those years," Balram drew the blanket on Subhadra, carefully.
"Being upset with brothers is sisters' birth right, after all," Kanha chuckled softly looking at Subhadra.
Next day was a hectic one as well as the happiest one. Bride and groom were decked up in their best to be blessed by the blissful moments of their lives.
Amidst the completion of ritual they tied knot with each other to be for each other beyond a single lifetime.
