"Maya," Riley began, "isn't Lucas just, just perfection?" She stared at the boy across the hall.
"Not really." Maya replied blankly. She had no interest in boys. All of them had broke her heart. "Riley, you've been friends for years. You've kissed. How come you're so shy?"
"I'll mess up." Riley said.
"No you won't. Now I want you to go talk to him and I want you to do it now." Maya demanded.
"Okay! I will! How do I look?" Riley asked.
Maya looked at Riley's orange dress and brown jacket. "You look amazing." She answered truthfully.
Riley smiled and walked over to Lucas.
"Hi" she said.
"Hey" Lucas said.
"So, um, I was wondering if maybe, possibly, if you wanted to, maybe," just then Riley was cut off my the bell.
"I gotta head to class, maybe you can tell me later." Lucas said.
"Okay," Riley answered.
She walked over to her best friend sadly. Maya hugged Riley.
"It's okay, Riles. Let's head to class."
