“Dorc, we're going to be late. Come on”, I screamed up at the girls dorm where she was getting ready.
Today was the Gryffindor- Slytherin quidditch match. This was the first match of this season and it was the game that will set the play for the whole season. Tension between both houses were higher than usual. Prank wars had increased significantly between the two houses.
Wherever James and I went, we were always followed by a group of Slytherins who just loved to throw insults at us. Surprisingly, through all of this, James has kept a level head. He never jinxed or hexed the Slytherins. He merely gave our detention whenever someone really got on his nerves. Rather than that, he would just smirk, taunted or wink at the Slytherins who were jeering at him and the rest of the team.
This was the first match as James's girlfriend so I was planning on being very very supportive of him today. Everyone had gone down for breakfast already while I waited for Dorcas. James, Sirius and Marls were with the team, eating breakfast while Remus was with McGonagall. He is the commentator for today's game. I have no idea why he's doing this but I'm sure this has something to do with the Marauders.
Speaking of Marauders, Peter has been slipping away nowadays. He's never with us for more than one period. I never really asked him, but whenever the boys asked he would say that he's meeting up with Aliza or that he's going home to take care of his sick mom. Now that I think of it, I had just seen Aliza walking with Timothy Hutton after Herbology that day, it was around the same time when Peter said he was meeting up with her. I'm not angry but I'm just worried. Worried that he's struggling with something and that he thinks no one can help him with but I want him to know that we're all here for him no matter what. I just hope he's down there eating with everyone rather than going off somewhere alone.
“I'm coming, Lils. Oh wow. Really rubbing it in everyone's face that you're James Potter's girlfriend, aren't you?“ Dorcas chuckled as she draped her Gryffindor scarf around her neck.
“I'm just being a supportive girlfriend”, I said shyly as I tugged on the sweater I was wearing. It was James's quidditch sweater which has his name and position emblazoned on it. I was also wearing his scarf and had a small face painting of our initials- J+L- on my left cheek.
“Come on, James Potter”, she teased and pulled me out of the portrait towards the Great Hall.
We walked into the hall and saw the Gryffindor team sitting and watching James pace around. None of them were eating, which in hindsight is stupid as they need their strength for the game. Dorcas sat beside Marls and started forcing Sirius and Marls to eat something while I walked up straight to James.
“Hey hey. James, you need to calm down, ok babe? I need you to sit down and have breakfast”, I stroked his face slowly to get him to stop pacing.
“I'm not hungry, Lils”, he said and tried to pace again. I pulled his face to mine and smashed my lips to his. He pulled me closer and I let my hands wonder into his hair. After a while, I pulled away from him but since either of us were not ready to let go, he dropped his forehead to mine and we stood there.
“Love the outfit", he teased.
“Why, thank you. Love it too”, I chuckled back which made him calm down a bit. I felt the tense situation around us melt a little.
“Come eat. I'm not eating if you don't”, I threatened him lightly.
“Fine, fine but I'm only eating the bacon”, He grumbled as we both took our seats, opposite of our friends.
“You and that bacon”, I shook my head as he loaded up his plate with strips of bacon.
“Lils, looks like that little display pissed someone off”, Marls raised her eyebrows at the Slytherin table.
