Orian's pov
My gaze was fixated on him as his face contorted in pain, beads of sweat rolled down his skin and his eyes glassy as he fought hard to keep back the tears but that didn't stop me from lifting the near-blunt knife and bringing it down against his wrist like I had done multiple times severing his hand off enjoying the rise and fall of his chest as his blood splattered everywhere including my face and a sinister smile crept on my lips when a tear rolled from the corner of his eye and down his cheeks.
That was my aim, to see him break, maiming him with the near blunt knife only made the process longer and more painful.
"Crying uncle?" I questioned bringing the dagger down one last time and a painful yell tore from his throat as his wrist slipped away against the blood pooling on the floor, "Now you won't have a dominant hand to fake notes anymore."
"You little bitch!" He groaned with more tears falling down his face, brows scrunched and mouth open, "Orian!" My name was a painful scream with angry tears as he looked down at his hand while he struggled against Nexus's grip, "How dare you?!"
"Amara is my wife. What she loves, I love. What she cherishes, I cherish. What she protects, I protect and what hurts her would hurt me the most."
I took my palm to his face and gently wiped at the tears marring his sweaty skin, "Don't cry dear uncle, crying is weak, men do not cry remember? You taught me that."
"You would betray your family for that b-"
I couldn't stop myself from swinging my fist and hitting him square in the face, he fell back but Nexus pushed him forward making it easier for me to hit him again, and as I pulled away blood trickled from his nostrils.
I hissed in irritation reaching out to grip his face and squeezing it in my hold, "The next time you disrespect your queen, I will let you keep your tongue and cut off your head instead." His bloodshot pained eyes narrowed at me, "Trying to kill her brother was crossing the line, her family is my family."
"You will regret this!" He muffled out his pained words, "I will make you."
"What were you planning on doing with the pictures and forged notes?" I asked remember how I had snooped through his official office and came across the files including the correspondence with the assassin who was now dead and whose body was found today, "Frame me and try to convince her that I tried to kill her brother?"
He gave me no words, just a mean glint reflecting in he gaze and then he shifted his head forcing away from my hold but I grabbed him and forced him back to look at me, "I told you not to cross me, look where it got you, deformed and now we are both scarred and what was that word you often used to address my scars? Hedious."
"You are a beast!"
"You made me after all." I released his face pushing him back and got to my feet, "You wanted me to be this ruthless, stomping on anyone who posed a threat to the success of us taking over the underworld and now you pose as a threat to my marriage, what made you think I would spare you?" I pulled out a handkerchief from my pocket, a low chuckle coming from me as I remembered that Amara thinks my checkered hankies are weird.
I wiped off the blood on my face and my hands then signaled at Nexus to let Hector go and he did, letting him fall to the floor with a thud and an anguished groan came from him.
"Know this now Hector, the next time you try to hurt her or her family, I will play frisbee with your body parts and make a spectacular of vultures feasting on them, don't cross me further because you wouldn't live to tell the tale."
He tried getting up from the ground but fell back again due to the injuries and I chuckled at his attempts remembering every moment he had laughed in my face and called me weak when I was down, "You got in an unfortunate situation and lost hand." I said to him with a warning gaze, "You never saw me nor Nexus tonight and you will stay far away from Amara and me."
