The exercise for today was a mostly free-for-all game of Capture the Flag. There were ten teams of two (listed below).
Team 1: Iida and Sato
Team 2: Sero and Ashido
Team 3: Shoji and Jiro
Team 4: Todoroki and Hagakure
Team 5: Tokoyami and Kaminari
Team 6: Bakugo and Yaoyorozu
Team 7: Ojiro and Aoyama
Team 8: Uraraka and Koda
Team 9: Kirishima and Midoriya
Team 10: Mineta and Tsu
It was obvious from the teams that they were set up so you would have to work with people either you didn't get along with or had Quirks that didn't go well with your own. For Kirishima and Midoriya, their main problem was that they solely focused on close combat, even with Midoriya's Air Force.
They were given ten minutes to plan a strategy before the timer began and the last team standing, with their flag won. The game would last 40 minutes. Aizawa had told them to imagine their flags were super dangerous nukes that could destroy the world and the buildings they were in, were your secret base.
Midoriya sat down on the ground and began explaining to him the strategy, "I think the best course of action would be to stay defensive since that's what our Quirks rely on." He took a rock from nearby and drew three squares on the dusty ground. "If this square here in the middle is our building," he pointed to the wobbly shape in the center. "Then I'll be on these two buildings next to it jumping down and attacking them." He explained drawing a swooping curve between the two 'buildings'. "Your job is to make that if anyone gets past me, to stop them. One of our main concerns would be Hagakure and Todoroki. He's most likely going to try to sneak him and Hagakure in and then cover the building with ice so he can take you out quickly and if he gets stopped, Hagakure will still be in the game." He explained. Kirishima nodded along.
"What about Iida? He can just run in and grab our flag and then run back out." He asked.
"Well, I think that solely depends on our reaction speed. Unlike Todoroki, we don't have anything that we can use to defend or cover up our base. Who I'm more worried about is Mineta. If he were able to catch us with his balls,(you dirty, dirty people) then we'd be done for. No offense, but you can't do much when you're unable to move." Kirishima simply nodded and brushed it off. But he was definitely offended.
Suddenly, a loud bell sound played, alerting the players that the round had begun. Immediately, Midoriya jumped out of the nearest window and hopped over to a nearby roof. There was a moment of silence before cannon fire could be heard. I'm guessing that's Yaoyorozu. He thought as he continued glancing out of the nearby window. In a not too far away building, ice coated the entirety of the outside of the walls, making the inside invisible. He could also see swarms of birds gathering around a certain area.
Kirishima waited patiently and quietly, waiting for either a wall of ice to surround him or to hear the sound of approaching footsteps. He started to feel uneasy. How has no one come for us yet?
Minutes passed as he heard a particularly loud cannon shot be fired and to be quickly followed by the sound of ice shattering. The cracking noise was extremely loud and blocked his hearing. He could also see the birds in the distance start to disperse.
Team 2 has been eliminated.
He could hear the speakers call out as he caught a glimpse of Midoriya flash by outside the window. Kirishima started to feel self-conscious standing there all alone in a defensive position.
