The next few days were uneventful. Recovery Girl would do her daily check-ups and give him medicine for the pain. It was only a waiting game from then on. His head didn't ache as much but he would get light-headed very easily.
The peak of his day were the times Bakugo would visit. Every time he visited, it would mostly comprise of him calling him an idiot for going off and nearly getting killed right when he got the oppurtunity to fight him.
"You seriously had to get hit with a damn cannon ball right when you were finally able to do something! You just had to go ahead and force me to save you and then make me come visit you everyday like this!" He rambled at him angrily while pacing back and forth.
"You know you don't have to visit me everyday, right?" Kirishima reminded him, giving him a weak smile. The day before, the pain had dulled enough for him to pull himself up into a sitting position which he was taking full advantage of.
"Well, if I don't then- DUMBASS! Just don't get hurt and I won't even have to see you at all!" He continued.
Kirishima laughed sweetly, comforted by his concern, despite how hard he was trying to hide it.
Bakugo would make visits like this every day and would lecture him about it the entire time. Others would find it obnoxious, but Kirishima got the sentiment and would take it to heart every time.
Finally, it was the day that more than two visitors were permitted to visit at once. He remembered the sound of footsteps quickly approaching before the door was flung open and his classmates flooded in, immediately crowding around him.
"Are you alright?"
"How did it feel getting hit with a cannon ball?"
"Here's all the assignments you missed, you have a week to finish them."
"Thank goodness, you're alright!"
"How badly did it hurt? I mean getting hit by the cannon ball, not the, you know, 'flying through a wall and then through the air before landing in a building' part?"
"If you had died, I would've felt so bad!"
"Don't ever scare us like that again!"
"Bakugo carried you away like a princess, it was adorable!"
Kirishima could tell that once he heard the last one, Ashido had called it out, trying to get a reaction from him. Instead he ignored it and focused on his classmates who were shoving 'Get well soon' cards and chocolates in his face. He tried to answer their questions but was quickly overwhelmed.
After a while of yelling over each other, Iida settled them down and handed him a letter. It was an 'I'm sorry' card and on the back, in elegant cursive was Yaoyorozu's name. He wasn't surprised she knew cursive, he never really cared or remembered how to do it.
"Yaoyorozu wanted me to give this to you, she wasn't able to make it today." Then, Iida turned and faced the rest of the class. "I believe its time we leave Kirishima, he is still in recovery after all." He started gesturing towards the door.
"Thank you! For everything!" Kirishima called after his classmates as they were ushered outside, waving farewells.
Once they abruptly left, Kirishima was alone to examine his gifts. Most of his classmates got him chocolates, while the others he knew less well gave him cards. Sero and Midoriya in particular gave him a gift bag full of Crimson Riot stuff, half of it he already had, which he would never tell them.
At the end of his bed was a letter from Bakugo which was strange because he was sure he hadn't seen him. His first guess was that Ashido or Kaminari had made it, but after closer inspection of the neat (Far neater than those two's)handwriting, he could safely conclude that Bakugo himself was the one who wrote it. The letter was a simple 'Get well soon' card, except for in the middle, where in huge letters, the phrase, 'YOU BETTER FUCKING GET WELL SOON' was written in Bakugo's handwriting.
