⚔️eight months has passed ⚔️

~~Neva~~

She had been training hard with Onree in the spring, summer, and fall... now winter was upon them. She needed to train her body to defend herself, especially from Viltars. One had told her what she needed for her plan to kill the king...but for some reason, she just felt like it wasn't a good idea.

If she kills the king then the Viltars people would go after her people. She hates the king but she is not sure she can kill him...she has never killed anyone before. It was just overwhelming for her.

Of course, she didn't tell Onree her doubts. He was like a father to her. He helped her escape when she was a child and raised her as his child. He has high hopes for me but these ideas are just not right.

They took refuge in a human village. It was nice not sleeping in tents anymore but being inside a building. Onree convinced a farmer to let us stay in his extra farmhouse In return he gets protection from us.

This village was her hideout and she enjoyed her time here. There were no worries that the king would track them down here since a human village is quite dangerous for Viltars. They might be bigger than us but a mob can kill a few Viltars soldiers. Neva also enjoyed seeing the villager's children especially when they invited her to play games. It's very sweet of them.

After training she walked back home her scabbard on her hip. She was wearing a fur-hooded cloak. It was a bit cold and any day now snow will be upon them. It was still early morning and she saw her friend eating bread and rabbit stew. It smelled so good and my stomach protested to eat by making noises.

She ran to them and once she reached them Beji gave her half his bread and Karten served her some rabbit stew. It smelled amazing.

"Thank you, guys," she said as she started eating. It was warm and tasted delicious. Neva also liked food but she only ate once a day since food is really hard to come by. She is so used to it that sometimes she forgets she's hungry. She was alive that was the most important part.

"So what did Onree say to you today? And how was training?" Karten said looking at Neva as she sat next to him.

"So he told me a plan but honestly I don't like it....he wants to kill the king but... it's impossible I can't do it on my own.... he's just way powerful than me" she said with a sigh looking at her food.

"One probably has more faith that you will succeed but I do agree with you. The king is too strong. He was able to pull all three of us when we tried escaping." he said shaking his head.

"Yeah I know and he wants me to kill him alone," she said annoyed

"You don't have to fight him. Maybe all of us can help you" said Beji as he ate half his bread.

"No, we can't what if he brings his knights...you guys would have to fight them...I rather we just keep moving and avoid the king but it sounds so cowardly" she said as she took a sip of her stew.

"We have to face him one day. He was very close to finding our camp a few months ago but he still hasn't stopped looking for you " said Karten

"I don't get it....why does he want me so badly...One said he wanted to control me and another said he wanted to kill me but...I don't think that's true" she said as she reflected in these months.

He didn't kill her but he almost did when he found her in the forest. He kept her warm and let her rest while her wound healed. She has a scar on her abdomen reminding her of that day... every day. She remembers his touch. It still frightened her but he was so gentle...but then he remembered. "Keep her" She felt a shiver down her spine that was the thing that frightened her. Being forced to be with him.
