Chapter 6

Y/N scrolled through recent texts, reminding herself to thank Venti and Xiao for the ride to school. The bus rides were terrible, and she couldn't bear the thought of another day on them, so Venti had offered to drive her. When Y/N had eventually accepted, Venti had forced Xiao to drive, for Venti didn't have a license. Xiao's death stare had made Y/N want to run away screaming, but Venti had sat right next to her, smiling brightly at Xiao until he looked away, blushing. Y/N thought that their relationship was quite cute, but she knew that as soon as the public found out, it would be ruined. It seemed like neither of them would be able to handle the pressure of being the stars of Teyvat again, not after the incident.

"Albedo added a few new people to the group chat, apparently they're transfer students from Fontaine and Sumeru. Collei, Lynette, and Lyney I believe," Venti said casually, pulling out his phone to text them.

Lyney: Hi, I'm Lyney

Lynette: And I'm Lynette.

Collei: Hello, I'm Collei from Sumeru!

Ayaka: Welcome, new students.

Kazuha: Hi, Lyney, Lynette, and Collei!

Wanderer: Hi, also Venti you better make sure your guy introduces himself

Hu Tao: What guy? Also nice to meet ya Lyney Lynette and Collei

Y/N: Hi Lyney, Lynette, and Collei. Nice to meet you.

Venti: Nice to meet you three and Xiao you better greet them

Xiao: Don't talk to me or I'll kill you

Y/N: Xiao, I'm very sorry!

Heizou: Hello hello hello you all what's going on?

Kazuha: I don't know at this point.

Hu Tao: Ehe...has anyone heard lovely by Billie Eilish?

Wanderer: IK IT WAS U HU TAO

Ayaka: I've heard Lovely by Billie Eilish.

Collei: So have I!

Lynette: Not me.

Lyney: Not me

Albedo: Oh no the teacher caught me sneaking into the science room again

Sucrose: ...why Albedo

Y/N: ...See you guys at school.

Y/N turned off her phone and looked up just in time to see them pull into the parking lot of the school. Xiao drove into the parking lot at 70 mph, the tires screeching as he somehow managed to park perfectly inside the lines, the sharp turns shoving Y/N against the car door. She groaned in pain, grabbing her backpack and jumping out of the car.

"Did you have to be so harsh?" Y/N asked, rubbing her shoulder.

"Yes." Xiao walked off, his jacket helping him to disguise himself as a normal teenager among his fans, who didn't know any better. Y/N now understood why all of the 5WIRL members wore jackets.

"Bye, Venti!" Y/N said, then ran into the school, barely avoiding Venti's fans as they mobbed him.

Y/N dodged two boys as they shoved each other against the lockers, wishing that the teachers were paying attention to the chaos. She ran to her classroom, finding a seat at the back of her class and sitting down. The ELA teacher, Jean, smiled at her before continuing to take attendance. Y/N liked Jean; she was the kind of person that was able to both make good points and listen to other perspectives. Y/N took out her notebook, copying down the agenda from the board.
