Chapter 10

Y/N woke up slowly to the sound of her phone continuously buzzing. She tried her best to ignore the noise, but eventually her phone vibrated so much that it knocked itself right off the nightstand. Y/N groaned, and grabbed her phone from the floor, looking through the texts.

Friend Group Chat (YEE) [+strangers idk]

Ayaka: This is an official announcement from the school district.

Ayaka: Dear Students, we are hosting an event at the park on (something) Street. Please join us today. Sincerely, the School Administration

Kazuha: Is it required for student council members to attend

Ayaka: Yes.

Collei: I can come!

Lyney: I suppose that

Lynette: We can come.

Hu Tao: bbg ofc i'll come

Xiao: i can't go

Ayaka: You're required to attend the event.

Xiao: no

Xiao: ...

Xiao: sorry

Ayaka: ...I'll explain your absence.

Venti: i'll pass on that

Wanderer: sure ig

Albedo: i can come.

Sucrose: Me too!

Heizou: what about Y/N? Will she come? Btw new phone

Y/N: Sure, I can come.

Heizou: alright

Ayaka: Heizou, are you coming?

Heizou: yes

Heizou: i wouldn't miss a school event 😏

Venti: who are you and what have you done with Heizou

Heizou: that sounds sus

Venti: nvm its heizou

Y/N laughed, and leaned back on her bed. Although the 5WIRL band was full of chaos, they did know how to brighten up her day. She couldn't wait to properly meet the new students, either. They seemed quite interesting, and had amazing talents, according to the rumors. Then her phone buzzed again, and a message appeared on the screen. She frowned as she opened the news report.

Mystery Revealed!

Last night, one of our fabulous photographers captured an image of the 5WIRL band with a girl known to the public as Y/N. We also have new footage of Venti kissing a member of the 5WIRL band, but we now know that the member is Xiao, one of the old members of the band. We suspect that Venti may have ulterior motives, and Xiao appears to be suffering from avoidant personality disorder. Recent reports from witnesses around the city claim to have seen Kazuha and Wanderer also dating. We have new information on Y/N...

Y/N threw her phone to the ground, relishing the shattering of glass as the screen broke. Her mind clouded with rage. How dare they reveal personal relationships to the public. How dare they take her friends' privacy away. How dare they. How. Dare. They. The public acted as if this whole situation was a mystery waiting to be uncovered, but did they ever think that there was a reason that the 5WIRL band tried to keep this private? Because they knew that the obsessive idiots would try to drag everything in the open? She stormed out of her room, throwing on her outfit and racing to Heizou's house.

Y/N's lungs burned, her legs aching and begging for rest. But she forced herself to continue her breakneck speed, going faster and faster until she reached a large, rather plain gray house. Y/N didn't understand how she knew where Heizou's house was, he had never told her. But perhaps in the past that she had forgotten, he had told her. And right now, Y/N needed him. Despite what he had said, and to not go to his house, she knocked on the door.
