We walk towards the door together. The both of them trailing behind as if they're using me for protection.
She hated my guts and he was slightly scared of me, but yet somehow they sort of trusted me. It made me happy.
"Ciao figliolo. Non sei assolutamente bello?" Alessandro says with tears brimming his eyes.
(Hi my son. Aren't you absolutely handsome?)
Antonio remained behind Zariah not moving an inch. Only one of his eyes and the hand that was holding tightly around her leg could be seen.
"Why is he so scared?" He turns to ask me. I open my mouth to speak, but I'm cut off.
"Well you kidnapped him and now you're calling him son. I wonder why he's scared." She yells at him with no type of awareness of how much danger she could be in.
"You're dumb as bricks and he's a bitch. His bath time is approaching so let's make this little meeting quick, yes?"
She pushes past us both and walks into the house holding Antonio's hand. He stares at me with wide eyes in disbelief. I don't think anyone has ever spoken to him like that.
"I know. Let's just say she's very expressive. You'll get used to it." I make my way in behind her tapping his shoulder.
After snapping out of his trance he closes the door and follows us. She finds the living room on her own and has already situated herself and Antonio on her lap.
We both sit on the opposite couch so we are facing them both.
"So what is this, huh?"
"Are you going to take him away from me?"
"Kill me if I decide to fight against whatever it is that you're planing?"
She goes to speak again, but Ale puts his hand up to stop what's coming out next.
"No is killing anyone, Zariah is it? He ask referring to her name.
"You know it's Zariah since you stalked my whole life." She snaps back immediately.
I chuckle a little at her attitude. I loved how confident she was in all situations.
"I guess you and your sister have the attitude thing in common." He also laughs out.
Her face drops at the mention of her sister. "Don't EVER speak about my sister!"
"And why's that?" Ale leans forward leaning his elbows on his knees applying more pressure so she could confess.
He believes she knows exactly where Kiyana is and if he can find her it will be easy to make her sign the papers to give him full parental rights.
"I don't know what it is that you think I know? And I don't know what your plan is here, but I haven't seen my sister since I was 16 years old and I have been taking care Antonio since then. Neither you or Kiyana has been in his life, so let's make one thing crystal clear. I AM HIS MOTHER. So cut the bullshit and leave me and Tino alone. Let him live his life. He's happy, healthy, and doing perfectly fine. So if you actually care for him like I think you do then let us leave."
Tears that were brimming her eyes had now fallen. Each sentence was filled with pain. I shift my eyes to Ale who seems more annoyed then empathetic.
"That won't be happening. For the sake of my boy I won't say anything about his mother, but he is mine."
"I suggest you give one of my men your house keys so they can retrieve your things because you'll be staying here."
He gets up after he finishes talking and walks away, leaving just the three of us to settle in what he had just 'ordered'.
I finally look at her, but once again our eyes don't meet. She's looking down at the floor releasing small cry's. Antonio is sitting next to her after climbing off her lap during the whole discussion. He stares at her waiting for her to look up or talk.
But nothing.
All she can do is just cry.
